TRIBUTE ON LABOUR DAY
By landloverreview on Wed, 01/05/2013 - 9:44amFor the workers of Today,
We salute your efforts of every day
On this day you all must get some rest
To give us all your best
I wonder how they tackle their work everyday
To themselves, what all they say
Always filled with confidence they tread
Whenever a new task lies ahead
With a motto “work is worship”
They face smilingly all odds and hardship
They help further our economy
As our country grows in trade and money
A day for them to enjoy the sun
Rather than toil and have no fun
We all thank them on this day from our heart
All year they toil and deserve atleast this REWARD.

Disney on Ice coming to Qatar!
By shabina921 on Mon, 29/04/2013 - 4:09pmParents of small children who are not traveling this summer, take heart: Qatar will host the Middle East’s first Disney on Ice: 100 Years of Magic show this June.
The 90-minute performance, which runs from June 13 to June 16, will be hosted at the Qatar National Convention Center, and is set to include Disney’s favorite cast of characters, including the Lion King, Aladdin and Snow White.
At the QNCC, engineers will spend two weeks building ice from scratch using some 48,000 liters of water, said organizers, which include the Qatar Tourism Authority and Feld Entertainment.

New undersea tunnel to airport!
By Doha Socialite on Mon, 29/04/2013 - 1:33pmA project is underway to link the West Bay area with the Hamad International Airport (HIA) through an undersea tunnel.
This will be one of the major projects to be implemented in the coming years linking Doha south, central Doha and Doha north, Al Sharq reported yesterday.
The project will start from West Bay near to the City Center as a two-lane bridge in both directions towards the sea and then become a tunnel under the sea leading to the airport.
It will meet a second subway starting from the new airport road with a three-lane undersea tunnel leading to New Doha.
The third segment of the project starts from Lusail with three lanes in each direction, with a bridge and undersea tunnel leading to New Doha. All these lanes will join at one point under the sea off the Corniche.

Weekend humor :)
By aamerz on Thu, 25/04/2013 - 11:05amA woman visiting Doha decides to go ice fishing. So she cuts a hole in the ice and sets up her stool when a voice booms from overhead, "There are no fish under that ice."
She moves her stool over a few feet and cuts another hole. Again, a voice says, "There are no fish under that ice!"
"Is that you God?" asks the woman.
"No. This is the manager of the Villagio ice rink."

The 'German' Job!
By Khanan on Thu, 25/04/2013 - 7:40amTwo days of amazing, absorbing and fascinating football. Bayern Munich and Dortmund FC outclassed the Spainiards giants.
Being a huge follower of Barcelona and Messi, it was a huge dissappointment but yesterday's RM's was a bit of relief.
Some interesting tweets :
'Wow. Spainsh teams EIGHT a lot of goals in Germany'
'Lewandowski? More like LeFOURdowski'
Looking forward for all 'German' affairs in the final.

Volunteers wanted for one-way ticket to Mars
By landloverreview on Tue, 23/04/2013 - 2:33pmMars One, a Dutch company, has begun its search for volunteers to fly and live on the red planet - but it's a one-way trip.

At a press conference in New York City on Monday, the company's CEO Bas Lansdorp announced an open call for anyone to apply for the flight, knowing that they will never be able to return home. The mission will be one-way only because there currently is no technology that would enable a return trip from Mars to Earth.

INTERNATIONAL EARTH DAY
By gypsy gal on Mon, 22/04/2013 - 10:44amUntil a man duplicates a blade of grass, Nature can laugh at his so-called scientific knowledge. Remedies from chemicals will never stand in favorable comparison with the products of Nature, the living cell of a plant, the final result of the rays of the sun, the mother of all life.
-- Thomas Alva Edison
Forget not that the earth delights to feel your bare feet, and the winds long to play with your hair.
-- Kahlil Gibran
The wealth of the nation is its air, water, soil, forests, minerals, rivers, lakes, oceans, scenic beauty, wildlife habitats and biodiversity… That’s the whole economy. That’s where all the jobs come from. These biological systems are the sustaining wealth of the world.
