Double standards
By Good old joe on Mon, 04/03/2013 - 9:41pmDOHA: The allegedly long and cumbersome procedures for obtaining a visit visa to the UK have angered several Qatari citizens, triggering calls for urgent action to address this issue.
They have called on the Qatari government to force the British authorities to simplify the procedures. “The British (visiting Qatar) are getting visas on arrival at the airport but they are making us go through complicated procedures and interviews and forcing us to pay too much money,” lamented a citizen.
“While British authorities are humiliating the Qataris with personal interviews and too many requirements and high fees their citizens are getting the Qatari visa on arrival at the airport.

By Iamthexxx on Mon, 04/03/2013 - 1:13pmPeople have been whining about lack of good news and bad publicity....... for all you folks this one real good news and a step forward.
a child born with HIV has been cured!!
======================================================
Doctors in the US have made medical history by effectively curing a child born with HIV, the first time such a case has been documented.
The infant, who is now two and a half, needs no medication for HIV, has a normal life expectancy and is highly unlikely to be infectious to others, doctors believe.
Though medical staff and scientists are unclear why the treatment was effective, the surprise success has raised hopes that the therapy might ultimately help doctors eradicate the virus among newborns.

Researchers found that older generations are being replaced by Google, Wikipedia and YouTube, with their grandchildren not asking them basic questions that they can look up themselves.

IKEA Doha opening confirmed
By Ruby23 on Wed, 27/02/2013 - 10:21pmIKEA Doha has told Doha News that it will open its doors to the general public on the morning of March 11th.
The news follows the invitation via email of hundreds of families in Qatar to a “family day” trial run at the store next week.
Invites for the event seem to have been sent to people who had registered to take part in an earlier trial day, which was cancelled at short notice last month, apparently due to issues with Civil Defence clearance.
Those inspection delays led to a postponement of the planned January 30th opening date, which was in itself a delay - IKEA Doha had originally hoped to open its doors in December last year.
IKEA is located on Al Shamal Road just north of Doha and is the anchor tenant of the upcoming Doha Festival City project.
