The only licensed shop you can buy alcohol at is the Qatar Distribution Company. They have only two shops in the country, one of which is in Doha. Nevertheless, the Doha branch, though hidden away in a dusty corner, is superb. There is a large range of alcohol, though it is weak on beer, the shop is large and cool and the staff extremely helpful. Prices do vary Qatar Distribution Centre: Contact Details Tel: 4699412/4699413/4687547 Address: PO Box 9483, Doha, Qatar To obtain an alcohol permit you need a letter from your employer written in English. Drive along C-ring road from the airport. You will come to ‚Ramada junction‚traffic light signals with the Ramada hotel on your right. Turn left onto Salwa Road. Drive over the fly-over and along Salwa road. Eventually you will come to a roundabout with a sign pointing towards the whole markets. Take the third exit off the roundabout. Drive along the road (whole market street), going straight ahead at the roundabout by the markets, for several kilometres. Eventually you will come to a building with black railings. Turn left straight after the railings, and just before the Qatar Technical College. Follow the road round and you will come to the Qatar Distribution Company. Its open all day except Friday. the saturday timing are different. Thats all.
Actually Qatar is an Islamic country. Who told you that the government of Qatar sells alcohol?
@ magicgarden The person holding the permit of the largest Alcohol shop in qatar is a qatari. No harm meant, thats the fact.

How many percent of my basic salary can QDC give me as limit of my purchases. Is it 20 percent of my basic salary?
Hi All, QDC Timings have changed. The new timings are 10:30 A.M to 07:30 P.M (Saturday to Thursday) And latest Tel Nos. are 44699412/44699413/44687547
what is the salary bracket needed to acquire liquor permit?
is it really needed that the letter is addressed to QDC? or just a simple salary certificate would do just fine? thank you.
Dear All, I need some information on the Liquor license. Right now in Doha i am working in one company and my employer is not my sponsor. I have a provisional appointment letter from company stating my basic gross and other breakup of my salary. When i go to QDC for liquor permit this provisional appointment letter will work or there has to be some official letter from employer to QDC stating for the permit? Request for the early response.
