does skype work in Doha?

i was just in Dubai, and did not have any success using skype on my computer to call home. I will be in Doha for the next couple of weeks. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Yes, but some users said no, I am using Qtel since I arrive to Doha and never have a problem with my skype.

I don't really know why other users couldn't use their skype!

Macmoss, as long as you use it for personal use it is allowed.

But if you intend to use to sell somebody else the servcice you could be having trouble with authorities.

Either you call to a mobile or landline outside Qatar it works fine. Also remember skype-to-skype calls are free.

yes it works here, but it s not very good quality, because of the network connection that is not very good!!

Yes, it does work.
I find it odd that it doesn't work in Dubai, as you said. But it does.(Skype works in U.A.E under Etisalat). You've prolly visited Dubai like 3 years ago.

Yes Skype does work in Qatar.

But try "www.freecalls.com"

It is more clear and rates are cheapest of all. It also has free calls to USA, Australia, Switzerland etc.

I use skype-to-skype with perfect quality. Don't know about skype to phone though.

Yes skype is working in Qatar. Try to visit www. buyonlinephonecards.com to see other options for voip accounts that you can use in Qatar.
You may also visit http://buyphonecards... to see what I'm using here in Qatar
