tax in imports???

tax in imports???

I am looking to import computer parts from Amazon in the US via aramex and I was wondering, as ive heard, is there an import tax applied to high value items when they arrive in qarat?

i will be spending roughly 5 - 6000 QR on the parts but dont want to if i'm gonna get slapped with an extra charge.

highest value item would prob be the graphics card at approx 1500QR.

has anyone got any experience of being taxed on high value items? are my items high value enough to apply to this?

thanks in advance

In past i purchased a Gaming Laptop from Ireland and it came via DHL. They charged me 8% of the Value of the laptop as customs.

check with aramex, what they have to say on individual parts.

just spoke with aramex and they seem as clueless as me. they say they don't have a vaule at which customs charges begin and the package may be charged as a whole or it may not.

what kind of operation is the customs here running??

ok got an answer from the shop and ship online chat. they say that any item over the value of 400QR will be subject to a customs charge. 8% you say?

prob still worth it as pc parts here are dated and way overpriced
