Do u think western world is goin down and eastern world is rising up?

with shaky western economy, it seems that the west is losing control politically and economically while eastern economies are developing stronger.....

Dude;

All the Oil & Gas billions of entire GCC cannot be enough to make the US Interstate Highway System which was built initially by Genius Eisenhour. What you guys don't understand is that Qatar has NO infrastructure. Not a single multi-lane FREEWAY. No decent roads, Electrical, Water, Sewer systems. You see nice towers in Dafna and you see some US universities in Ed City and you think this is it :-)

Go live in suburban Wahington, Seattle, Portland, Orange County, Dallas, etc. and see what it is like to have advanced civilization. You will be amazed at how easy to get services without physically going to Kahrama, QTel, and God knows where. You will get great quality housing with hot water always hot and cold water always cold. No tanks in backyard. LOTS and LOTS of Parks, Green, Clean Open Space and clean public facilities.

You will see how nicely and well-behaved US drivers are and no Landcruiser will flash you from behind when you are at the speed limit.

You will be treated with courtesey in all Government places regardless of whether you are citizen or resident. Nobody will ask you to get a damn No-Objection Letter from sponsor every time you need to sneeze or cough!

Finally you can live 10 years just like everybody else with no need for WASTA or kissing various people behinds to interfere on your behalf to obtain a certain privilege.

The LAW applies to ALL equally.

Justice and Equity for ALL is what America and Canada are all about my friend.

West just going through a recession, peaks and troughs - look at the economics of 20th century for most western countries, we probably went through at least 3!

Also be careful about always relying on oil/gas as the main prop for your economy -once it's gone it's gone - it is not a renewable resource!!! For a parallel, think coal mines in the UK - their closures (due to the fact they ran out of coal) completely devastated and blighted whole communities who had become too reliant upon them as a resource. What is Qatar doing to diversify their economy away from Oil and Gas??

Recently , a lot of such speech came out !
Farid Zakaria , a Newsweek magazine editor (or something) released his new book :
The Post-American World
talking about India, China, Brazil the emerging forces comers, and the lost American role in the upcoming new world.
There is an essay in that magazine concludes his vision & answers your question.

In this part of the world there always seems to be a simmering feud between the East and the West. What all Easteners forget is that Japan is also in the East and not all Westerners come from America. The Japanese, Koreans, and North Europeans picked themselves up in less than half a century, not because of their huge polulations but more because they had a work ethic based on honesty, integrity, hard labour and national pride . This has however been eroded by Americanisation of their cultures in recent years. Unless the Chinese and Indians alter their culture that seems to tolerate cheating in business, they will not progress as they should. In the US, it is called "good marketing", in India and China, it is called "Bargaining" and there is a thin line between this and plain old cheating. The nations that pick themselves up are those that strive to produce a better product for a fair price.

No I don`t think so, cause western economics is building over Human resources Talents which will never go down, while our economics is building over Natural resources wich Allah bless us with so we also are not going down it`s just a matter of playing around to suck our eastern money in western countrys
