I have just returned from South Africa and was amazed to read in the local papers there that South Africans not living in South Africa do not get to vote in the up coming elections. They are allowing prisoners eg. rapists, murderers etc to vote. This is an absolute joke !!

well even in india ,, der is a similar rule,, non resident indians do not have the right to vote,, but measurements are being taken to change this rule & make facility for the non resident indians to vote even from foreign countries. Answered on Fri, 14/11/2008 - 10:46pm

maybe absentee voting is not yet available in your country. and i don't think your citizens from all over the world will go back to your place just to vote. try to write to your congressmen so that they can pass a bill on absentee voting.. good luck! Answered on Sat, 15/11/2008 - 2:20am
