what to do / What will u do??

When you are in front on a red signal with camera and there comes an ambulance/poilice/fireforce vehicle with siren !! what will you do??

I have seen an ambulance crossing the red signal but the camera didnt flash!! dose the ambulance got any camera jammer??

LOGIC....

AMBULANCE = emergency; which might mean a matter of life and death

Would you fine an ambulance driver who is doing his job...a life relies on his driving skills on how to manuever thru traffic and reach the hospital or the patient on time...

Azilana,

question is you moved your car forward to give way for the ambulance and you get a camera flash!! who suffers? and mind it, it is not a small amount to pay for jumping red signal

Azi answered one of ur questions as well" dose the ambulance got any camera jammer??" so don't ignor that :)

when the camera flashes, its to be noted that there is also a video which is taken.. now if you happen to get a fine when u moved a lil forward to give way to an ambulance.. you can always go to the cops n explain and they will waive it off.. it happened to me today.. i moved in front but the others dint.. i was like.. c'mon.. its an AMBULANCE... maybe i knew that it can be waived off.. not the others..

I think this is the original question, what to do if ambulance behind you on red in emergency, yes?

If you move forward to give way, you get flashed and fined QWR6000 + points.

So how to convince police of your predicament? I guess I would take ambulance ID (number plate, time etc) and hope the police listen to me and check it out. I would guess the ambulance would get flashed also, so this will act as extra evidence in your argument.

But not always so simple, ambulance so fast, no number ..... you get done!!!

i remember reading in the newspaper sometime last year, the ambulance chief said that in case a driver gets caught by the camera while making way for an ambulance they should go to the dept, from where they will verify the claim (by checking with their systems) and then issue a letter.

Move forward obviously. The police will be able to confirm that an ambulance passed through.

U would have followed that ambulence and enquired about the area and the person who is driving that ambulance. /-a-t-/ the time of fine u can mention the situation and u can give the ambulance number so that he can come and say the truth.
everything could be done after knowing that the paitent is moved to the hospital for treatment.

Harsha,

let us know if your fine is been waived off or not.May be if you know arabic and can explain well to traffic police, then they may check the truth and waive off otherwise !!??
I have seen people not moving their cars who was in front of the red signal when an ambulance came.(it is only bcoz of the fine) and i guess there is no guidelines from trafic dept after the new rule is been implemented on this issue.

Thats why i posted this question.Any member from trafic dept here to answer??

You dont have to worry police have record of all activities happen anywhere in main roads , one day i got fine of 1000 and i denied , i told them was not me who drove they told me to wait and come back later when i went i showed me my pic with my car and place!!! and after seing the pic i did remember the day and even the reason why i was overspeeding and pass red light. that was two years ago when the fines were less but now its 6000 but if the reason is ambulance then u dont have to worry , u dont have to bring witnesses or so

Non of the above suggestions are good...The Traffic Dept is blind and deaf and waste a lot time and enegy if your claim able to get approve from them!
