decent gyms in Doha

decent gyms in Doha

Cheers All,
Been reading here for a while and got some really useful tips. Today is the time I ask my own QUESTION.
I have been to Gold's Gym, the prices are noticeably high with very few options (two week, one month, three months and one full year, with a clear NO REFUND across the brochure) in addition to the hours that just would not make it possible to exercise in the morning if you feel like it.
My work place is very close to Lulu Hypermarket. I have heard that some hotels offer decent facilities (full set of free weights, and the standard cable machine) for better prices and some even have pools. I gave a look at a weight lifting place by the old airport called Nero Blanco I think but just did not seem healthy (people with jeans and sandals roaming around).
Can anyone offer some advice as to what my options are (price/proximity to work), and if I am ultimately stuck with Gold's Gym (qr 4000/year, open to men only between 12.30pm to 11.00pm)
Thanks to all

Hear are some decent health and fitness club.

1. Dana Club near Qatar Sports Club in Dafna area.
2. Al Masaa Gym near Ramada Signal and besides Rawnaq Department Store.
3. The Club at Intercontinental Hotel in West Bay Area.
4. Al Sharq Village and Spa near Marriot Hotel in Ras Abu Aboud.

I agree that Gold's Gym has some very strange ideas about when people want to work out. If location is your main consideration then I would recommend Al Massa (Ramada Signal) ... They are about the same price annually as Gold's but open 6am - 11pm (dedicated male and female side's to the gym) All the hotel gyms (with the exception of Sheraton, Intercontinental) are relatively small and ill equipped and pricey as well. The only other cheaper option would be to check out the Aspire gym (park next to Villagio and walk towards the Dome and ask security where the gym is) I cant confirm this myself but have heard that they only charge 150 per month (and free for locals) but this is hearsay on my part. Good luck
