Drinking Water

I heard that water is not cheap in doha is that right ?
And what kind of bottled water are there ?

There are many types, few of them are Rayyan, Gulfa, Masafi etc...I prefer Masafi.

Qatar Government supply water for domestic use.that is 4.40 Qrs./M3.
Many time baldia advertised in all news papers that tap water supplied for use is as per specfication. it is very good for drinking.my self and all family member are using from last more than 10 years, there is no any problem and also baldia certified for this supply water good for drinking.
you can use it , but arrange one water filter good quality,to avoid from pipe line suspended partical.that fiter need to clean weekly bases.

Drinkin water is fine from the tap, but check how it is stored in your compound, the new plastic tanks that are regularly cleaned are better than old stone or metal tanks.
For family use then a 5 gallon bottle as per previous answers for 8 Riyals (2.5 USD), funny thing is Water is far more expensive than Petrol.

Price of water
1. Evian Water - Qr 6/- for 300ml bottle.
2. Poland Spring- Qr 4/- for 300ml bottle.
3. Highland Spring- Qr 3/- for 500ml bottle.
4. Ar Rayyan - Qr 1.5/- for 2 litres.
5. masafi - same as Rayyan.

You have to remember that it does not rain here so much so all the water we get both for domestic and drinking is desalinated and cleaned. Desalination is the most expensive way to clean water. No Wonder
