Is it OK to openly be an atheist in Qatar?

Personally, I don't see a reason to be offended or annoyed. Having a Religion or NO religion is everyone's very personal matter and shouldn't be a reason to be offended or frowned upon .... as long as we co-exist peacefully as Human Beings and avoid direct criticism to anyone's religious practices or values.
Any open-minded and educated individual (Qatari or Non-Qatari / Muslim or Non-Muslim) should not mind it or get offended by it.

Its ur right!! however, the only difficulty u might face are further questions (probably out of curiousity) once u answer u r an atheist.

its ur right to beleive wat other do or not and close mind ppl from different religion will not accept it only.

I thought there are many official forms that require you to fill in 'religion' .
I don't think it will be a good idea to put on 'Atheism' on that dotted line.

There is no legal action against atheists, nor would Qataris be offended by you being one, however:
1- In some paper forms, you need to fill in your religion and atheism isnt considered a religion here.
2- Exposing yourself as atheist to Muslims, might encourage some of them to target you for religious discussions (for the sake of converting you to Islam).

anonuykult - i just checked in the mirror and i do exist without a religion. i think you should open your mind a little more, maybe read some Charles Darwin.

yes, on forms i put christian as that was what choice my prents made for me when i had no coice.
