Can a Canada immigrant visa holder apply US visa

One of my close friend got canadian immigrant visa for him and family of 2, he intends to visit his sister in the US while on his way back from Canada. If he applies for a US tourist visa, can he get it. Pls. reply.

I assume you mean he has acquired Permanent Residency for Canada. If so this has no bearing on admissability to the US. It really depends on which country he is from. However, if his sister in is the US legally then she maybe able to help him.

you said your friend got a canadian immigrations visa, what kind of visa. If it is just a visitors visa then they would have to apply for an amercian visa. They may or may not get it. It all depends which country they are from. If they are from Qatar, india, saudi, africa, china and many more countries they more than likely won't get one. Unless they are very well off in their own country and they have to prove this through lots of paper work that takes weeks to get done. An average citizen won't get one. Usually if you are from the british common wealth you some caribiean countries you may beable to get one. Check the the immigration requirements on their web site. Not sure what it is but google immigration USA

of course he can apply. Everyone has rights to apply for any visa.. Shall your frined get a visit visa to USA or not?? it's entirely up to the particular officer of the Immigration Office of USA, who is preccessing the application.

I think,he can have a tourist visa as long as his papers are okay..but i dont think it's possible right now because America is having this so called US visa retrogression...which means,there is only limited number of visas available--not just for immigrants but also for tourist visas..well,i do hope he gets one..God bless.
