Do employers need CV to apply for work visa for their selected applicant?

I was a direct hire. I got my offer and all but asked to wait till October for them to apply a visa for me for some reason I dont understand. After a month the employer emailed again asking for another copy of my CV bec accdg to them they need it for visa application. DO they really need a CV for them to apply for my visa or they are just reasoning bec they lost d copy of my CV...I might be waiting in vain..what do u think ?

CV- NO. attested education documents YES. But give them your CV as it does not cost you a fortune to do so. ask people you know who are working in that company, about its reputation.

No...only passport and payment is needed to process working visas. The employer is probably using that as an excuse to delay the processing of your visa.
