sponsership problem

sponsership problem

One of my friend having problem as described below...
1. He got release from his old employer 2 years back and handed over to some individual for the new sponsership process
2. new sponser side they approached immigration and got approval only to change of sponsership.
3. unexpectedly they closed their company and they did not do anything regarding to change of sponsership and now they keep as it is for the 2 yrs time and nothing has done and no RP nothing in his passport. we went and asked yesterday to the new sponcer and he requested us that,he can give the passport back and go to the old spocnser ( he said as he is still sponcer) and do something..... so he realy do not know what to do now?
2 years no Residence permit nothing because of their mistakes....!!!
and anyone pls can help and your valuable advise much appreciated and thanks in advace

The old sponsor will be in trouble for the penalty for over-staying in the country. It is QR 10.00 per day so imagine the amount. If the sponsor will not take the responsibility, he'll definitely go to the detention center and deported back to his home country. However it is the responsibility of your friend that he/she made sure that his RP was being renewed. You can not be that naive not to query the status of your sponsorship, not to wait for 2 years then go back to the old sponsor. Anyway, only immigration can resolve the issue for overstaying, but sure with jail time to be considered. Hopefully your friend can leave the country without spending the night at detention center.
