Latest news from Qatar
American Bombs Qatar (by mistake)
By now all of you have probably heard about the Americans accidently dropping a patriot missile on a farm in our dear Qatar. How the most sophisticated army in the world can "accidently" drop a missile is beyond me...Perhaps it was heading somewhere else and failed?
The one thing that no one has raised yet is that apparently Bush and Blair had previously discussed bombing Qatar previously - specifically the AlJazeera Headquarters in Doha.
Cue the X-Files theme song...

Qatar Farm Bombed: via AlJazeera
Seriously though, does this not worry you? If it accidently went off the other way it may have landed smack bang in the middle of the Corniche...

Army ...Lived in a small town in England that had a huge army camp Royal Signals. More likely to perish on the roads here than anywhere else. Everything is relative. Spare a thought for all those civillians affected by genuine war... jj

Hi Jane ...I clicked on the link about Bush and Blair in your thread (was an article from The Sun 2005 and to be honest looked like a bit of a joke!). Your profile says you're a journalist - you don't happen to work for The Sun newspaper in UK do you? :P

Jauntie - I heard about this ...Jauntie - I heard about this thing of Bush bombing Al Jazeera in Doha too and it was back in November 2005. I remember it because at the time I was planning to move to Qatar and I told it as a joke to my dad who was obviously extremely pleased to hear it ... :D

Jane, which paper do you ...Jane, which paper do you work for, the Beano or the Dandy, could be either as your childlike insinuations are below even the Sun's level of journalistic intelligence.

well ...Dear all
May be they will apologize after that...
It is fine if they apologize because I know they were bombing city near Baghdad they killed 15 civilian but the good issue the chef commander he apologized for killing 15 inncoient people might that apology will bring the life to them or it will be certificate to the families from the ...... country that they brought democracy to this world
Well we should follows if they apologized to the Qatari or to the country...
I wonder ......

Canada 2006.... ...Accidents do happen....they are part of life...and especially war...and even training unfortunately(ie maintining an army in a state of readiness for war).
But having said that, I often wonder why we only ever hear of American troops killing either innocent civilians (like in Iraq) or thier allies (like Canadian soldiers in Afghanistan, from what they call friendly fire).
I know that statistically its more likely to happen since they have the most troops....but I often wonder: shouldn't we be hearing about the Canadian friendly fire that killes US troops once in awhile at least?
Is it just technical problems? They are SUPPOSED to have the most advanced and sophisticated weaponry in the world! Or is it simple disregard for lives? Some of the footage in Farenheit 911 for instance, makes me wonder about how many of their soldiers think they are playing video games!
They always apologize after the fact, but unfortuntaly it can never undo what was done.
Stay safe all.
Perfection does not exist. The question therefore, is: what level of imperfection are we willing to settle for?
