Because they cannot speak - Heartwarming
The first QL 'animal gathering' was held on Friday - wow, what a great bunch of people! It amazes me everytime that animal/pet people are so sociable, when you have something in common there are no barriers when meeting for the first time. It was like we all knew each other already and was really great just discussing so many things that we all care about, moan about, hate, love - our opinions on all things animals in Qatar were so similar.
Delilah was a star, settling down on a blanket, dozing peacefully, knowing she was safe and surrounded by people who care. She is on the road to recovery and I was delighted when Jonathan decided to take her home with him again as she is obviously quite attached to him already.
Taking advantage of a large group of people I decided that the 9 pups we have at the shelter were in need of a bath!!!!!
Heartwarming...... to see a group of adults forming a queue to take a puppy from the bath, wrap it in a towel, dry it, cuddle it, feed it and CARE!!!! The faces around that table have etched a memory I will long hold dear.

Bathing Puppies... ...Moonbeam said
Bathing puppies ...The best part of the day.....well, other than meeting you all! :) The puppies were truly adorable, and I especially like the 'milky' smell that all puppies have. And the way they would kind of grunt and squeal as you dried them. Oh boy, and weren't they hungry! At one point my little bundle of fuzzy joy was searching for milk to suckle....on me! Too funny! LOL!
I really had a wonderful time. Let's hope that the next meetup will bring more people; even if they can't bring a dog or cat home with them, at least we can share the experience and the common love we have for animals; and maybe spread some awareness about the poor animals still looking for homes.
