Because they cannot speak - people power!

Sitting at the farm at 2.30pm, wondering if anyone will come to the coffee afternoon, then by 3.30pm wondering if we have enough dogs to go around for the walk......so many people came to visit it was heartwarming to see.
One thing that never ceases to amaze me - the welfare of animals spans every nationalitlty - it it one cause that people join together for!!!
I wandered around,, spoke to lots of people but most immportantly, listened - everyone had a story, an experience, a concern - we all had something in common, our love of animals and a desire to help were we are needed.
Of course, the animals were the stars, Bob paraded around and tugged at many people's hearts, one by one we got the dogs out and told their own stories, all were different, all were sad, all were needy!! People reactions were united......the dogs got spoilt with treats and attention.
The donkeys got their noses rubbed, the birds played to the crowd, the cats called and purred, even the bull did a dance.....the power of people!!! Long may it continue to improve the lives of these special animals in our care.

Qatar Animal Exhibit ...About 18 months ago I visited with a Qatari friend a animal type zoo in the country, unfortunately I cannot find the card of the owner. Since that visit, I wrote to a few members of this blog asking if they had visited this place and also asking if anything could be done about closing it down or making the owner take better care of the dog, cat, wolf and fox that he kept there.
When I visited it was the middle of summer and even though he had these poor animals under cover, they were each confined to a very small cage, no room to move around and had to endure the heat.
I apologize for not being able to correctly name the place, I will find out, but was wondering if anyone else had visited the place, and if so, if there is anything that can be done to help these helpless animals???
The owner is making a fortune importing exotic animals from Africa and selling them to rich clients from the middle east.
