Commercial Bank. Can anyone help me?

Is anyone working for Commercial Bank and if so, can you help me?
You see, I got a car loan few months ago and I just don’t seem to understand how it works here.
I am supposed to pay monthly instalments of QR 1600, which I do by direct debit, but the thing is, the loan balance doesn’t go down, only a couple of hundred ryals per month. Does this make sense? It doesn’t to me.
My husband has gone to the bank a couple of times and he hasn’t been given a straight explanation, I have also telephoned on several occasions, but it gets me nowhere. Why is the customer service so bad and why we can’t get a simple answer or an explanation of how come this loan doesn’t go down even though we pay the instalments religiously every month?. I mean, we are no dumb, we normally understand interest rates and all that, but in this case it makes no sense whatsoever.
Has anyone experienced problems with Commercial Bank or am I the only one?
We are starting to think this is day-light robbery.

Hi Butterfly I work at ...Hi Butterfly
I work at Commercial Bank and am happy to help you.
The reason your balance does not go down by very much is that your loan is new. As a result most of your fixed monthly repayment is made up of interest with a small amount of it as principal. As time progresses you will see that the interest amoutn decreases (because the outstanding loan is smaller).
Towards the end of the loan period almost all the payment will decrease the outstanding and very little will be interest.
Rest assured that your loan will be paid off in full by the time specified when you took out the loan (24/36 or 48 months).
I hope this helps

THank you S7 Well after many ...THank you S7
Well after many phone calls and my husband's visits to the branch we found out that there is an allocated office that deals with car loans... So my husband went to see them and everything is in order now.
Turns up that it is as you say and the loan will be fully paid within the given amount of time. Also they didn't take payment when Ramadam, postponing our loan one more month. They say is a kind of "present" for their customers... But since they took QR100 to pay for the "present" it seems that the generosity is from the customers towards the bank instead of the other way round. Also they should have informed us by letter or a phone call or a text message or something, shouldn't they?

I would read the terms and ...I would read the terms and conditions of the loan carefully and then complain about the QR100.
They cannot impose charges on you without your consent.
