VoIP Update

As far as I can tell, VoIP is still blocked. Something has been changed though. I can now make calls, but my voice is breaks up on the other end.
Some reports have come on the Vonage forum that people have been able to make successful calls. I have not been able to do so thus far.
Let me know if you've heard anything.

Yahya, I think not only ...Yahya,
I think not only Vonage but all VOIP are blocked and I support your action against QTel. Is there any other way to mobilize as many expat as possible to sign a petition and send it to QTel or to any other government offices?

I'm wondering if it's ...I'm wondering if it's possible to get some folks together to go stomping for petition signatures from any nationality, Qatari or expat, to get service restored to the swindled subscribers to QTel ADSL. Let me know if anyone is interested.
Let me make it known though that I am happy here in Qatar. I typically like all the Qataris with whom I have personal acquaintence and love the fact that when I go to the morning prayers at the mosque there are usually around 150 people present. I appreciate the generosity and kindness I meet from Qataris and expatriates on a daily basis. But I cannot stand for injustice against anyone. I feel particularly obliged, being a Muslim, to peacefully do something about injustice in Muslim lands.

Yahya, It would be useless. ...Yahya,
It would be useless. Qtel already know that what they are doing is unfair and violates their consumer rights. But they don't care, as long as they fill their pocket with money. The thing is, there is no other choice than putting up with it, is there? And they know that too.
Signatures will do nothing, cos they don't care about customers. They only care about money. Boicott is the way to go.
I like what you say about being a muslim you feel obliged to do something about injustice. But muslim or not,Christian, jew, buddist, whatever, we live in a material world.

Using Voip ...I've have visited Qatar last year twice and I used my Voip Skype phone all the time, because its fast, and I missed my family much, and it cost me only $29.95. I had no problems with it. Contact your service provider.
I visit www.skype.com if I ever have any problem.
