Lost and not found

Got to love Doha but so far we have lost three things..

First item - One box from our cargo with a wedding gift inside. Probably the most precious thing we cargoed. Still hope though as QA is trying to tidy up their warehouse. Tip - make sure your boxes are easily identified as all brown boxes and black suitcases look the same in a huge warehouse. And if you have a digital camera - take a photo of each box/case you send. This will help them find it.

Second item - During Ramadan, Family Laundry (Al Nasr) gave one of my wife's Abaya's to the wrong person and this person has not returned it, although it is so obviously not theirs as we have seen the one they put in to be cleaned. So the poor lad that made the mistake was meant to personally pay for it - this represents most of what he earns in a month.

Third item - Sunglasses - but this was my fault as I left them unattended for a short period of time and when I returned they were gone. But having paid QR6500 to join the Diplomatic club I would have hoped for more than that. The staff are lovely and the members certainly earn more than enough to not need to nick things.

So the moral of the story is that although crime is low - it would seem that items given in error or left unattended are a gift and do not need to be returned to their rightful owner. Be careful.
