The second concert in the 2008 Qatar Foundation Concert Series, in association with Qatar Shell, will take place in the Qatar National Theatre on Thursday at 7.30pm. A Gala Concert of Classical Arabic music will be performed by the renowned Arabic Music Group of Cairo under conductor Salah Ghobashi. The programme will consist of well-known romantic and folklore songs from various Arab regions and a selection of Arabic instrumental pieces played on traditional instruments. The group will consist of 15 singers and 15 instrumentalists. | ||

GOIC organizes this event in cooperation with the Arab Industrial Development & Mining Organization (AIDMO) and The Arab Science and Technology Foundation (ASTF). With the participation of international keynote speakers, the conference targets introducing KBIs and diagnosing means and practical mechanisms for enabling GCC member states to launch this industry, further to presenting a comprehensive strategy for GCC in this field.
