In continuation of last year’s hugely successful 1st Qatar Open Junior & Sub Junior Badminton Tournament, the 2nd Qatar Open Junior & Sub Junior Badminton tournament 2009 would be held under the aegis of Al Arabi sports club in May amongst children of various schools in Qatar.
An exhibition of photographs from the recent archaeological excavations undertaken by the Qatar Islamic Archaeology and Heritage Project at the ancient settlement of Al Zubarah.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, prior to the emergence of Doha, the fortified city of Al Zubarah was a major trading centre. This photographic exhibition aims to portray the current work at the site; not as a record of a dead city but from a different perspective – as a living archaeological site, another page in the site’s evolving history.

Ladies, I pop down to fabric souqs and tailor regularly, and wondered if anyone would like to join me to explore my favourite haunts, including the fabulous al rawnaq. The fabrics here are just gorgeous, and the tailors cheap as chips to have things made.
I suggest we meet at 9am at the Islamic center (spiral building opposite souq waqif) and it will go through to about 11.30am, the tailors are in a different area so i'll bring copies of a map and my tailors number in case we don't all make it there.
The weather is heating up, so although the souqs are air conditioned, getting there and back is not, so not sure how suitable it is for wee ones, if you want to make the call to take them, prams are fine in the souq area.

2nd Qatar Open Junior & Sub Junior Badminton Championship 2009
In continuation of last year’s hugely successful 1st Qatar Open Junior & Sub Junior Badminton Tournament, the 2nd Qatar Open Junior & Sub Junior Badminton tournament 2009 would be held under the aegis of Al Arabi sports club in May amongst children of various schools in Qatar.
An exhibition of photographs from the recent archaeological excavations undertaken by the Qatar Islamic Archaeology and Heritage Project at the ancient settlement of Al Zubarah.
In the 18th and 19th centuries, prior to the emergence of Doha, the fortified city of Al Zubarah was a major trading centre. This photographic exhibition aims to portray the current work at the site; not as a record of a dead city but from a different perspective – as a living archaeological site, another page in the site’s evolving history.
