An exhibition of photographs from the recent archaeological excavations undertaken by the Qatar Islamic Archaeology and Heritage Project at the ancient settlement of Al Zubarah. In the 18th and 19th centuries, prior to the emergence of Doha, the fortified city of Al Zubarah was a major trading centre. This photographic exhibition aims to portray the current work at the site; not as a record of a dead city but from a different perspective – as a living archaeological site, another page in the site’s evolving history.
