An exhibition of photographs from the recent archaeological excavations undertaken by the Qatar Islamic Archaeology and Heritage Project at the ancient settlement of Al Zubarah.

In the 18th and 19th centuries, prior to the emergence of Doha, the fortified city of Al Zubarah was a major trading centre. This photographic exhibition aims to portray the current work at the site; not as a record of a dead city but from a different perspective – as a living archaeological site, another page in the site’s evolving history.

This refers to earlier communication with respect to 2nd Qatar Open Junior & Sub Junior Badminton Tournament. The 2009 edition of the Tournament which was scheduled to be held from 22nd to 28th May 2009 is postponed to next convenient period for all concerned at a later date due to some unavoidable circumstances. The Tournament would now be held in the month of October 2009, the exact date of which would be confirmed in due course.

Qatar Badminton Academy (QBA) is all set to re commence its successful and acclaimed training program for the children and junior players.

The program would start from 1st April 2010 at Qatar Badminton Club, Doha Rugby Club Annex, near Doha College.

Not only the venue is centrally located but also there would be flexibility in the training program to accommodate various requirements. The program would be held in batches scheduled on week days 4 PM to 5:30 PM, Fri-Sat 9 AM to 4 PM.

exhibition of the leading Iraqi artist Faraj Abbo Al
Numan’s work Faraj Abbo was born in Musul-Iraq in
1921. His talent appeared since his early childhood and
some of his early paintings and sculptures decorated
some of Musul’s old churches. The value of his painting
is by marking a period of time in Iraq and preserving
images of its landscaping that unfortunately doesn’t
