I don't know how much better ...I don't know how much better the saturday brunch is with kids, but don't go there on Fridays. There is no supervision in their playroom that has only a few toys and their idea of entertaining the little ones is putting on Cartoon Network! Funny oversight as they have a clown who doubles up as a face-painter (the only one who actually was very kid-friendly). They are also VERY overpriced for the lack of service (10-15 minutes before dirty plates were picked up and noone showed up the whole time to ask if we needed anything), a very stiff staff, and practically NOTHING for kids.
Go to the Ramada or any of the Movenpicks instead-you and your kids will enjoy it much more and you'll be a few hundred Riyals ahead.

I cant say that the 'cooking class' was brilliant. Although my son enjoyed it ... in my opinion their cooking class cant be compare with the kids cooking class in Ritz Carlton.
The one they so call cooking class is more like putting an icing in the already made biscuits. Apart of that they do face painting, and some crafts work.
My son used to go the one at the Ritz. They have long table, then the hotel 'chief pastry chef' do the actual lecturing telling the kids what to do and not to do. And also the kids got to go inside at the kitchen and watched the chef making the dough mix and putting them inside the oven.
When the icing finish my son want to take it home, i asked the staff to pack it for me, they went in and gave the biscuit back wrapped in cling film.
Again i compare it to the other place, at the Ritz the put the kids cooking works inside a very nice box and a nice carrier bag to take it home.
I spent QR 320 ... thats including my brunch and my son's.
