Global Wireless Broadband 2008 Summit
This international summit, brings together globally, key decision makers, telcos, regulators, WISPs, service providers from the Middle East, Africa, Asia, Europe & North America, to discuss new opportunities and challenges arising from the Wireless Broadband boom, and chart the direction for “The Future of Wireless Broadband”, in Qatar, one of the hotspots in the forefront of telecom liberalization. Meet at this Unique Summit where business and money flow, solutions offered to your infrastructure challenges & strategic partners found!
Wireless Broadband is booming in the Middle East, with market growth rates of 25% to 100%. In Africa, Wireless Broadband technologies have whole countries leap-frog into the Communication Age. In particular, all eyes are focused on WiMAX, the abruptive technology that became an IMT standard last October. The next 12 months will be crucial for WiMAX. Notwithstanding the volatility in the capital markets, it is estimated that the total capital to be invested in WiMAX networks and technology will be more than US$30 billion over the next year. Total VC/PE investments for WiMAX in 2008 should double the US$2.073 billion invested in 2007. Likewise, M & A activity in the WiMAX industry should exceed US$3.4 billion for 2008. The 12 months will also bear witness to an unprecedented amount of radio spectrum auctioned worldwide for use with WiMAX. Capital invested to acquire WiMAX spectrum could reach more than US$15 billion, and those who acquire spectrum will also invest in the necessary network infrastructure this year. With all these, aren’t you not excited about “The Future of Wireless Broadband”?

WiMax is going to be ...WiMax is going to be RIDICULOUS. Think about it.
Wherever you can get a radio signal, you can get ultra fast internet.
If this technology is developed in Qatar, the following will happen:
"Qtel, i have a wireless latop, i need internet"
"Here's your username and password, use it anywhere in the country"

Well, I am using QTel from ...Well, I am using QTel from last 4 years. It took less than 2 days to setup new connection and they support team is excellent. Try calling them at 2:00am and you will find some or the other person on the other side to help you happly.
I had problems with Mozaic service and later had to discontinue the service and get back my old package of ADSL, but considering the new technology that was quite common for any company. I am sure they have better service to offer now with Mozaic...
One other thing I don't like about Mozaic compared to regular ADSL connection is that, your internet is disconnected the moment your credit is full, unlike regular ADSL which keeps working even if you have not paid your bill for 2 or 3 months...
