"International Day of Climate Action"

URGENT ACTION REQUIRED - FOR "International Day of Climate Action"

October 24 marks the "International Day of Climate Action" and Qatar is one of only 23 countries that have nothing planned yet.

SustainableQatar requests the Doha Community participate in the "International Day of Climate Action" in Qatar. We would like to do this in order to show global solidarity with regards to this issue and to allow the organizers of www.350.org to announce at the United Nations Climate Change conference in Copenhagen in less then 2 months that 171 countries around the world were taking part in the "International Day of Climate Action".

Where: The large empty lot across Qatar University and The College of North Atlantic on Al Tarfa Street
Bring: Your country flag and/or reusable shopping bag to wave

Our idea is to arrange SUVs/Cars to spell out 350 in Arabic/Roman characters/numbers as a honest message that shows and examines our driving habits to 350.org but also shows that we can passionately unite to mark the event and consider personal choices and behavior.

Please help spread the word to all of the students, companies, friends, and people that you know. Let us mobilize all of Qatar for this event. Carpool with your friends and colleagues and just come to be part of the "International Day of Climate Action" 2009 in Qatar.
