Global Champions Tour Final of Qatar 2009 will take place in Doha. The event is one of the richest in show jumping with a total of Euro 1.4 million in prize money over four days of competition from Wednesday 11 November to Saturday 14 November 2009. The event will take place at the Qatar Equestrian Federation Outdoor Arena in Al Rayan. The world class venue was specially built for international sporting events and has already hosted the first round of the GCT in 2008, the equestrian events of the Asian Games and boasts the best facilities for horses and sport.

The top riders of the GCT Ranking will travel to Qatar, Doha for this prestigious event, including Olympic individual gold medallist Eric Lamaze, World Champion Jos Lansink, leading Australian rider Edwina Alexander, number 1 of the Rolex rankings Marcus Ehning, not to mention local riders Ali Youssef Al Rumahi and Sheikh Ali Bin Khalid al Thani and many more of the world’s best riders and horses.

The competition starts Wednesday 11 November 2009 at 18.00 PM. The first final worth Euro200,000 will take place Friday 13 November 2009 and the Euro 900,000 GCT Final will take place Saturday 14 November 2009 from 21:30 local time (20:30 CET).

This is a unique opportunity to see all the international showjumping stars compete for the highest prize money of the year! Entry to the Global Champions Tour Final is free of charge and there will be a shopping and entertainment village as well.

Television coverage of both finals will be shown LIVE on Eurosport, Universal Sports-USA and Al Jazeera Sport-Middle East Countries. The event will also be broadcast on Eurosport Asia-Pacific, Equidia-France and Supersport-South Africa. Furthermore, all classes will be livestreamed on the GCT website (excluding the two final classes).

Does anyone know if there's anything like this on over Christmas? My sister is coming out on 24th- 28th Dec and I want to take her to see the Arabian horses.
Are the stables open yet to the public?
