BRAZIL VS ARGENTINA GAME
Residents of Qatar will find plenty of fun events to enjoy as four days of Eid al-Adha festivities get underway in the country today.
From outdoor activities to a dreamy international football friendly, residents are in for a treat over the holidays.
The Corniche Bay as well as beaches at Mesaieed, Zikreet, Semeisma and Al Khor are ready to receive a large number of holidaymakers, thanks to the delightful weather.
Shopping malls have also geared up to welcome thousands of families during the holidays.
The newly-opened Safari Mall in Abu Hamour is organising fun events for families featuring henna designs, face-paintings, balloon twisting, hair-styling for boys, braiding for girls and clowns all through this week.
At the Hyatt Plaza on Al Waab Street, dance performances, wrestling matches, skits, balancing acts, games and competitions will be held everyday until November 20 from 6.30pm to 9.30pm.
On Salwa Road, Quality Hypermarket is holding a Kerala cultural event show until November 18 from 7pm to 9pm, where artistes will present ‘Mappilapattu’, ‘Karakattam’, and ‘Pulikali’ on each day respectively starting today.
Qatar’s largest mall, City Center Doha is hosting a European Circus show featuring wide-variety of exciting segments executed by professional performers, including clowns, football jugglers, illusionists and archers, entertaining the audience with their spectacular acrobatic skills and aerial stunts from today until November 26.
At the Villaggio, the Gondolania family entertainment centre is also expected to tempt families looking for a bit of thrill with roller coaster rides, flume ride, tap dance, drop zone, sky loop and carousel.
The open-air Souq Waqif will be home to the “friendly gorillas”, “Greek statues”, “Alex the cat”, a baby elephant and dream balloon shows daily until November 20. Activities begin in the evening.
For more open-air fun, Qatar’s newest attraction, Aqua Park Qatar on Salwa Road will open daily from 10am to 10pm. This water-oriented leisure destination will host various characters for kids including cartoon characters, face painting, Muppet and magic shows. Regional entertainment groups ‘Ayyam’ and Al Kofia Dance will also perform along with troupes from Qatar, Egypt, Palestine and Lebanon. Friday will be observed as a family day only.
Opening daily from 6am to 5.30pm also will be the Al Dosary Zoo and Game Reserve (6628 5303) on Shahaniya Road from tomorrow until Thursday.
A number of community-backed events marking the Eid are also planned. These include an Indian cultural festival “Doha Delights 2010” to be held tomorrow at the MES Indian School at 6pm, while another, a Pakistani grand “Eid Milan Evening” will be held today and tomorrow at the Pak Shama School & College located at Abu Hamour, starting at 8pm.
The Khalifa Stadium will be home to a face-off between two soccer giants of Brazil and Argentina tomorrow in an international friendly.
For cultural aficionados, the iconic Museum of Islamic Arts, in addition to regular exhibits, is hosting “A Journey into the World of Ottomans” exhibition at its temporary gallery from Saturday to Thursday (10.30am-5.30pm) and Friday (2pm to 8pm) with Tuesdays being closed. This exhibition runs until January 24.

That's going to happen in one hours time (8pm) at the Khalifa Tennis Complex. Should be fun.
I might have 3 extra tickets - will give it to those interested free.
Although Tickets should be available at the venue itself - QAR 50 and 20.
