Dreaming the future of Doha, Qatar - Syd Mead
Syd Mead, the "futurist" who did design work on Blade Runner and Aliens has produced a vision of Doha in the future. Apparently the design was done for Qatar Steel whose logo features prominently in the skyline.

It's nice that he kept the ...It's nice that he kept the Sheraton in, but I hope they'll have renovated the interior by then - it's looking very old and tired even now!
It's a shame he didn't keep some of the buildings they're actually building now and include some of the proposed future projects, like the Doha Bay bridge and West Bay extension;

And Rydges has been "about to be demolished" for at least as long as I've been here. Looks like they finally got round to it in the future!
There's also no Pearl in the background. Perhaps it sunk already!

tallg ...yeah, and the one with the bridge does look far more impressive!... imagine the traffic, after Lusail and the pearl is built and u wanna take a trip down to good old wakrah or the airport! a bridge (or a tunnel?) would b really needed then.

diamond- in this ...In this case how would you land in Qatar - it would take less than one second to cross Qatar and there is no need for the airport or Qatar Airlines either, they would be out of business. In fact nearly everyone would be out of business except airline engineers.
We could fly to Amiland/China and buy our needs then come back to Qatar in half a day. Whewwwww globalistation thank goodness for this..
