HH The Emir and Erdogan to chair joint strategic panel meet tomorrow
HH The Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will meet at the Emiri Diwan on Wednesday to hold the third session of the Qatar-Turkey Supreme Strategic Committee meeting.
President Erdogan will arrive in Doha today evening to begin his official visit to Qatar, reported Gulf Times.
HH the Emir and the Turkish President are also expected to discuss means of enhancing strategic bilateral cooperation as well as reviewing the latest developments in the region, according to The Peninsula.
The third session of the Supreme Strategic Committee at the ministerial level between Qatar and Turkey was held in Ankara on October 23.
Earlier sessions were held in Doha on September 28, 2017 and in the Turkish city of Trabzon on December 18, 2016.
The first meeting of the Qatari-Turkish Supreme Strategic Committee, held in Doha on December 2, 2015 was also chaired by HH The Emir and Erdogan.
Meanwhile, the Turkish President headed to Russia on Monday for talks with his counterpart Vladimir Putin , the first leg of a three-nation tour that will also see him visit Kuwait and Qatar.
Turkey has stood strongly by Qatar’s side ever since four blockading nations initiated an illegal siege of Qatar on June 5.
