Qatari singer becomes first from the Gulf to be nominated for Grammy Awards
Qatari musician Fahad Al Kubaisi has become the first Gulf singer to run for the prestigious Grammy Music Awards.
His latest album, titled ‘Enta Eshq,’ has been nominated for the ‘World Music Album’ at the 60th Grammys Awards, reported The Peninsula.
The singer confirmed the news in his Twitter and Instagram feeds. The popular Qatari artist has millions of followers from around the world.
Al Kubaisi collaborated with Backstage Production to launch the IAM “Introducing Arabic Music to the Western World” campaign. It was aimed at presenting Arabic music in its authentic format using traditional instruments to the Western world without compromising its identity.
He was selected as the best singer in GCC in 19th Meeting of GCC Ministers of Culture 2013 in Bahrain.
