These traffic signs should be followed whole life of a Muslim. Not only in Ramadan.

Bthomas: Listening music in Islam is haraam. There are many threads in QL relating to it.You can check it out.

God loves music that is he gift to us so we sing for his praise

I think 'No Sleeping during the day' should be added to this as well. That's the worst one in my opinion.

So "true" Muslims never, ever, smoke sheesha or cigarettes?

By fubar• 6 years 5 months ago.

So why is it that in Ramadan extra cafes and restaurants provide sheesha?

I'm confused. Sheesha is bad, but more popular during the holy month of Ramadan.

I guess there are some things I'll never understand.

Even music is not allowed during Ramadan?

By Amoud• 6 years 5 months ago.

Not all Muslims follow their teachings to a tee just as not all Christians, Jews etc dont always follow. Some see Ramadan as a time to party with reduced working hours and late night shopping and cafes where others find it a time of reflection and repentance.

You guys arent confused about some of these things, I do believe you are just adding flames to the fire.

for newcomers like me here in qatar (particularly to a muslim country) this information is very helpful.. It provides generalization of what are allowed and not allowed though not all Muslims follow them.. As for the expatriates, we just need to be aware and give due respect to their tradition and culture.

I also want to comment that I agree with Amoud on his first paragraph.. Thanks.

it means for me patience. Ramadan is not meant for muslims to switch their days and nights around so that they sleep through the day and therefore avoid the pangs of fasting. However, some people turn their nights into days and days into nights.

I feel that these reverse habits take away from the true meaning and spirit of Ramadan so me and my wife stick to our regular routines of getting up and working and doing our typical daily activities (with the exception of eating or drinking).

hear no evil ... see no evil ... speak no evil

True & Nice One...............

However, the traffic signboard is applicable 24/7 whole the life of a believer in Allah SWT..

If I may add, Ramadan is the litmus test YoY (year on year) for the believers to see how much could they gain control on their respective Nafs...as the Shiateens/Devils are locked during this blessed month...and any misdeed/mistake/wrong temptation/s during these days is actually our own Nafs

This is very important month for all the believers in Allah SWT to review the progress chart and work more hard to have even better results in the next Ramadan (if blessed with enough life) Insha'Allah.

May Allah forgive us all and guide us to the right path and out of his million mercies, we all get chance to live on Haq/truth and when we die, we die on Haq/truth...Aameen

Allah knows the Best.

(Nafs: the nearest interpretation I could come up is the ‘Soul or Self or psyche’)

Ramadan to me is a month of prayer & workouts. The time that I don’t spent reciting Quran or praying, I dedicated it for hard core workouts at the gym for 2-3 hours after the tarweeh prayer.

As for music, I will not debate in that. Music & poetry have always been part of the Arab/Muslim culture (even in the early years of Islam). Not to mention its golden age during Umayyad & Abbasids caliphate
