A controversial Indian mining tycoon has taken over a royal palace and flown in Brazilian dancers at a reported cost of 5bn rupees (£59m) to celebrate his daughter’s wedding.

Up to 50,000 people were expected on Wednesday at the sprawling Bangalore Palace, a mock Tudor castle in southern India, to celebrate the wedding of Gali Janardhan Reddy’s daughter, who was married in a Hindu ceremony earlier in the day.

Local media criticised the extravagance at a time when many Indians are struggling to find the cash to buy food following the government’s move to pull high-value notes out of circulation in an attempt to tackle tax evasion.

But one associate defended the lavish expenditure, saying Reddy wanted people to remember the wedding of his only daughter.

“It is unfortunate that a daughter’s wedding has been made an issue out of envy and rivalry,” Manju Swamy told AFP before the party. “It’s an important moment for her parents and they wanted to celebrate the event in a way that befits the family’s status in society.”

It is not necessary that all the politicians are corrupt, some might be non-corrupt too, so its unfair to blame a man because he is organizing his daughters wedding the way he wants.

One of my friend left Doha, some time ago asked 1,000 QR. (He is in his country at the moment)

I feel, i should give at least half of that may be end of this month.

Purpose for above two line is;

I feel the amount I earn some time should be helpful for others on critical times.

If were to earn in billion- Am I responsible for some needy?

The billion money is really mine or it's belong to people as well.

(My post is general. Not only relevant to this story)

Islam say's, Allah will test the Human in many ways. One of them is Wealth.

Question: Its his money to do with as he pleases – right ?

Brity, You ask the question and gave the answer also.

God has chosen some people and given outstanding talent in various ways.

My opinion - I would say, better for them to distribute this money to poor. They will wish the couple well.

50,000 people may be not much comparing to the Indian population. He did not able to feed at-least the total Indian expat population of 545,000 in Qatar.

It's a shame, if tomorrow another feed more than 50,000 people, then he'll be in a position that his record is defeated.

Funny world.

Non issue, it is not that Indians do not have money, it is that the common man or woman has to go to recommended areas for exchange.

In the case of the mining tycoon, sure the payment would have been made via bank transfer, or similar which is not an issue.

Besides his only daugher.
