Billiards Group

Welcome to QatarLiving Billiards Fans Group. This group is obviously for those that love this sport and play it with a passion, but its also for those that enjoy watching the game or have thought of learning how to play it. In this group we will have tournaments, weekly meet ups, discussions, tips and learning lessons. Once we have enough members i will form teams to compete between ourselves. If we have really good players I'll organize tournaments with other clubs outside QL where we'll compete for bigger prizes and trophies. I hope to get full co-operation from all the members and ask that you all be active in participation. Membership to this group is open to all willing to learn or play. Thank You All :) SMOKE

Ronnie O'Sullivan beats Barry Hawkins to win fifth World title

Defending champion O'Sullivan played magnificently, compiling a new record of six centuries in a Crucible final.

But world number 14 Hawkins, who many thought would be blown away, played his part with some quality snooker himself.

O'Sullivan is only the third man to retain the title at the venue and his victory will go down as one of the great sporting comebacks.

"That is the hardest anyone has pushed me," he said in paying tribute to a "brilliant tournament" from Hawkins. "I just couldn't get rid of him but I hung in there. It was a brilliant final and it was just good to be part of it."

Billiards Tournaments in Qatar

This is just to inform the members that wish to participate in billiard tournaments in Qatar.

1. Qatar Billiards & Snooker Federation
When: Every Saturdays at 4.30pm at the QBSF building in Muntaza.
Entry Fee: Qr. 30/- per player
Type: Single Elimination (Handicap matches)

2. Rendezvous
When: Every Wednesdays at 7.00pm at Rendezvous billiards next to TV round about.
Entry Fee: Qr. 50/- per player

3. Nero Bianco
When: Every Tuesdays at 7.00pm at Nero Bianco (First Floor)
Entry Fee: Qr 30/- (not sure on this but around this much)
Type Single Elimination Race to 5 mostly.

QBSF Ramadan Open 9 Ball & Snooker Tournament 2012

Qatar Billiards and Snooker Federation have announced that they will be holding a Ramadan Open 9 Ball tournament from the 10th Ramadan till the 17th Ramadan. Details are as follows:

-Double Elimination matches

-First Round till top 16 are Race to 7. Top 16 to Top 4(Semi finals) are Race to 9, Finals are Race to 11.

-Any delays by more than 10 minutes the player looses 2 frames, more than 15 minutes the player loses all the matches.

-The Player has the right to ask for the head referee in case of any dispute situations.

-No postponements what so ever will be allowed.

-Application forms will be available in the federation

-The technical committee will appoint a chief referee to head all technical matters in the tournament

Semi Finals - Race to 7

Finals - Race to 9

venue: Hotshots, airport road

Time: 5:00pm onwards

Entry Fee Qrs. 100/-

You can leave your name and mob number at Hotshots reception at the time of registration by paying the entry fees.

8Ball Tournament on 10th of May.
Elimination matches on Thursday 7:00pm onwards.
Semi-Finals and Finals on Friday: 6:00pm onwards.
Entry Fees is Qr.60/-
Register on or before the 8th of May to save a spot in the tournament.
