I drive a Defender 130 in New Zealand, would like to keep up the tradition! Looking forward to seeing the inland sea and camping in the desert.

I have a roof tent here, should I bring it with me? Is camping equipment easily found?

Also, is kerosene (paraffin) easy to get, I use it in my campstoves.

I have a business in South Africa and am moving to Doha. My business designs/manufactures/imports alloy wheels for all types of vehicles like Hummers, BMW, MBenz, Ferrari etc etc and I was wondering whether people in Doha who drive these types of vehicles would actually fit aftermarket alloy wheels onto their motorvehicles.
Any info would be appreciated.

Hi All, I'm new to Doha but not to the Gulf. I really enjoyed desert and wadi driving in the UAE and in Oman. I'm looking to join an existing group of offroaders or start one. I bring with me 6 years experience of pretty intense (but responsible-well mostly ;) ) desert driving, all the necessary recovery equipment (except winch), and good GPS knowledge. Please contact me if this sounds like what you already do or would like to start doing.

so i have been here for about 3 months now... and im curious...

i know there is a big rally/autocross scene here... but were?

i mean i look in the tourist book about doha and it says there are rally events and street events but it doesnt say were they are at?

im a big rally fan... especially since Travis Pastrona started ralling at the X-Games... was Surprised collin McRay was there too... But i have never been to a real rally because they arent that big in america... so can anyone point me into the right direction for the next rally or any kind of Auto-cross event... THANKS

Can any one assist me in where I can install a strong WINCH for my 4 wheel drive. I have a Nissan patrol and I am looking for a pretty strong winch. Any indication on the cost also would be appreciated.
