QLCricket Group Visualised & Created by QLer KSarat

All you Cricket Lovers...unite you have nothing to loose but your boredom!

Members please be advised that this group will be for those who are interested in playing the Game, living the Game, Knowing about the Game and those also who arent able to keep track of whats going on in the world of Cricket through TV and Newspapers,

I would urge all members to please cooperate with the organizing team here at QL Cricket and also do post in your timely updates from your side and your feedback about this place...and any suggestions for US...

The Vision for QL Cricket:

Well, so to start a group of Game- Loving, High Spirited, fun- entertaining, and committed individuals to begin with...

Our Way Forward:

I would spell it out as, to start playing the Game of Cricket amongst ourselves on say a bi-weekly fortnight (on the Second and Fourth Friday of the month), we keep playing and getting ourselves Fit, Fine, Healthy, and Entertained for the love of the Game, and with the people around you so as to make new friends and have a Good Time in Qatar...

Next as we go ahead, we would then be choosing those specific players to make it to the Qatar Living Cricket Team, that will participate in the Professional Leagues of Qatar and hopefully, sooner or later.

WE SHALL HOLD THE COVETED "QATAR CRICKET ASSOCIATION TROPHY"...a long road, and in this path there might be hurdles, and there might be losses, but there will SUERLY BE THE ELEMENT OF FUN that the GAME IS PLAYED with...

So without further due,

Ladies and Gentlemen, boys and girls,

I present to you :

QL's Very Own, Cricket Group "Qatar Cricket",

Time to Revamp... May 18th 2012!!!

Ello Peoples and Peeps from different countries, cultures and segments of the world...

This group has been awfully quiet for a little while, infact a LONG while...

So I was thinking, why dont we revamp this place and make it slightly more interesting...

Lets Play what we love to Play... The Unusual, Unexpected, Unpredictable Game of Cricket :)

Before we get this group back into action...

I would like to request a couple of things from all our members if possible (and try sticking to the questions please):

1) Are you interested in playing Cricket on Fridays/whenever we are able to get things going?

Goodbye!

I hereby resign from my position as the Group Manager due to multiple reasons ... the main one being constraint of time on Fridays.

I suggest Khanan to takeover from me...and I wish him all the best.

I would surely come to play whenever there is a game and time permits me....

It was fun playing with you guys.... under whatever conditions we could play... I do carry fond memories of our games.... and that coffee at Al Badar's cafe :)

Qatar online communities join forces for ‘cool’ campaign

Online communities and websites Qatarliving.com, iloveqatar.net and Qatarvsitor.com have joined forces with the Qatar Living Volunteer Group (QLVG) to launch their “Cool Campaign” next weekend, which will see volunteers distribute drinks, t-shirts and caps to labourers suffering in the summer heat.

Group members are hoping to get many more volunteers involved in this year’s campaign, and have asked anyone interested to join them tomorrow to kick off the programme.

Sponsors including Sigma paints have provided a number of items to the group, such as 300 t-shirts and caps to protect workers from the sun.

And members have also managed to collect over 2,500 bottles of water, as well as fruit juices and other items.

Public Opinion:

Afridi should lead Pakistan cricket team!

Image and video hosting by TinyPic

After Pakistan’s disastrous tour of Australia, we started a poll on Pakool.com asking our visitors to let us know who should lead the Pakistan cricket team. Over 700 votes were casted and finally the results are out.

The large majority of voters think Shahid Afridi is best choice for Pakistan captain. A massive 65% people voted in favour of Adridi, and the closest contender is Younis Khan with just 12% votes.

Tendulkar now UN goodwill Ambassador

ndia's cricket superstar Sachin Tendulkar has been named a Goodwill Ambassador by the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Tendulkar, the first player to score 10,000 runs in one-day internationals, will use his massive global popularity to raise awareness and harness support for environmental action in his home country of India and around the world, the UNEP announced here today.
"I have played and enjoyed my cricket across the planet. Now it's also time to do something for the planet, which is our only home," he said.
"Being part of the effort to save the planet is an immense undertaking but it is a challenge I am ready to undertake. Working with UNEP and cricket fans across the globe, I am in good company. Together we can do it."

Rana, Malik get one-year bans, Younis and Yousuf axed from teams

The PCB has struck against its players with a venom unseen in recent memory, carrying out the deepest cull of a senior cricket team in many years and banning and fining seven of its top players after the side's disastrous, winless tour of Australia. It effectively banned Younis Khan and Mohammad Yousuf from playing for Pakistan in any format, while handing out one-year bans to Shoaib Malik and Rana Naved-ul-Hasan. Shahid Afridi and the Akmal brothers were fined Rs2-3 million [$24,000-35,000] for various misdemeanours and put on six-month probations.

All Cricketers Unite - Battle Lines are being drawn!!!

V/S

The kids of Billiards have challenged the nasty boys of QL Cricket for a duel in the sun.

They ask for it ...we give it to them.

There are no two ways about it...you are either with us or against us....there aint no fence sitters cause there aint no fence....in a battle zone!!!

How many of the QL Cricket Group want to take a go at the kids of billiards ...just shout out here...and you are in.

But we can have no more than 11 to kick their butt....so make it quick, fast and clinical....we don't want the boys to suffer too long ;)
