QLIG Salutes Sachin Ramesh Tendulkar !
A barrier that had not been breached in 2961 one-day internationals finally fell in Gwalior, and it was fitting that the batsman with the most ODI runs became the first to touch 200 in an innings Sachin 200* 147 balls 25 fours 3 sixes at a strike rate 136.
The magnificence of the innings was such that the South Africans were left with no chance. Unlike the earlier highest ODI scores which were with the batsmen having to keep runners or against lesser cricketing sides, Sachin's innings stands out for being flawless and against a world class bowling side in a decider.
A legend, a wonder , who is been carrying the dreams of 1 billion people on his shoulders for past two decades. We love you Sachin... we are privileged and obliged.
Husain conferred Qatari citizenship

95-year-old artist MF Husain, who has been living in exile in the UAE and United Kingdom ever since he was forced to leave the country for fear of his life, has now been conferred citizenship by the government of Qatar.
"I'm honoured by Qatar nationality but deeply saddened by my forced exile. I, the Indian-born painter, will have to give up the citizenship of my land of birth if I accept nationality," the Hindu newspaper quoted Husain as saying.

US doctor charged with raping over 100 child patients
Washington: A US paediatrician, Earl B Bradley, was indicted on Monday on 103 counts of rape, allegedly committed on child patients under his medical care, in what could be one of the worst child sex abuse cases in US history...
Bradley, 56, appeared before a court in Delaware, charged with 471 assaults against 103 children including the alleged rapes, Delaware Online reported.
He was charged in December with nine counts of rape, but evidence collected from video recordings prompted police to increase the number of charges.
“The thing that makes this case so troubling and horrific is the alleged abuse of trust in this matter,” Attorney General Beau Biden was quoted as saying by ABCNews.com.

India top tally with three gold medals
India took home five medals, including three gold, to assert their supremacy at the 18th Qatar International Regatta ‘Sail the Gulf 2010,’ which concluded yesterday at the Doha Sailing Club.
On the back of their dominating performance in the Optimist class, Malaysia were second with six medals, which included one gold, two silver and three bronze. Tunisia stood third overall with one gold and two silver medals in the five-day event that featured over 180 sailors from 28 countries.
While India had guaranteed themselves two gold medals, in 470 and Hobie 16 classes, Rajesh Chauhan added one more to their tally with a victory in the Laser Radial.

London: When little Xavier King took his first faltering steps, his parents were both thrilled and amazed - he was only six months old.
The baby prodigy can now walk more than six feet without any support. It’s a feat most one-year-olds struggle with and that child development experts say is “extremely uncommon”.
Mum Mary, 30, and dad David King, 27, a shopping centre manager, believed Xavier was a fast learner when he started sitting up alone at just three months old. Even so, they were astonished when he wobbled to his feet and began tottering around at their home in Cambridge.
It is all the more surprising considering he is only just learning to crawl.

Mumbai attacks defence lawyer gunned down
A lawyer for one of three men accused of involvement in the deadly Mumbai (Bombay) attacks in 2008 has been shot dead, Indian police say.
Shahid Azmi was gunned down by unknown attackers in his office in Mumbai. Mr Azmi represented Fahim Ansari, who - along with Sabahuddin Ahmed - is accused of aiding the gunmen who attacked Mumbai, killing 165 people.
It was not immediately known if the shooting was connected to the ongoing high-profile trial in the city.
Mr Ansari and Mr Ahmed are on trial with Mohammad Ajmal Amir Qasab, a Pakistan citizen, who is alleged to be the sole surviving gunman.
Gunmen flee
The unknown attackers shot Mr Azmi in his office in Mumbai's northern suburb of Kurla, police said.

Maharashtra govt cracks down on Shiv Sena, 1000 detained
In a crackdown against Shiv Sena, over 1000 of its activists were detained ahead of the release of Shah Rukh Khan starrer 'My Name is Khan'
even as theatre owners here suspended advance bookings fearing violence.
The Sena stepped up its protest over Khan's remarks favouring inclusion of Pakistani cricketers in the upcoming IPL. In the last few days, the Sena activists have targeted 10 cinema halls in the city, removing posters, disfiguring hoardings and vandalising screens.
"In the last 24 hours, a total of 1,023 Sainiks have detained. While 955 were picked up as a preventive step, the rest were taken in on different charges, including protesting outside theatres and vandalising screens," police said.
