All, as most are aware there is little or limited, to say the least, craic going on via the group. To address this I think it may be a good time to organise a get together, date and venue to suit as many as possible.
To this end can we have an indication of who would be interested stating the following:
Preferred date:
Venue?
Ideally we are looking for a private venue, (compound club or someone with a nice big garden! bring your own food and drink, alternatively I am sure we can meet up in one of the bars (Perhaps at the Ramada)
If interested post response via the group so that we can gauge interest and see any suggestions. It could be a good laugh and I am sure we will all benefit from meeting some new friends and be able to speak without repeating ourselves!
Over to you all

New Networking Event
Hi everyone,
I'm in the process of trying to setup a new weekly networking event with a good friend here in Doha. The event we be ran as part of the BNI group - Business Networking International, which is a world wide well established business networking organization.
I have used this type networking before in the UK and it was really helpful for making new contacts and also good friends.
We are going to be arranging a meeting in the next week or so in order to give out information and to answer any questions people may have. At this stage we are trying to get an idea of the number of people that would be interested so we can arrange a sutable meeting place such as the Doha golf club.

Ane auld fermer see's ane English chield drinkin frae a burn, he shouts
"Haw!, Dinnae waucht o' that, 'tis fou o' sharn an' pish!"
The Englishman replied "I'm frightfully sorry Old Boy!, I only speak English!!"

Hi Duncan!
I tried replying via PM but it says that you don't accept PMs.
I heard of the expatriates football, but I didn't go to watch the game. I've met a few people but no fellow scots. I've not found much interest either. I went back to Perth for a wedding etc between the 13th-23rd June, so I'm just back. I'll be here till Christmas but who knows if I'll come back after that... play it by ear.
Maybe the British Group is effecting response, not sure. I'm an Account Manager for an IT company called EOS Technologies. I moved over on my own. Got family back home, but not a wife or kids etc, too young for that yet!!
