10 Free Ways to Speed Up Your PC
1. Get Rid of the Nasties
Viruses and spyware don’t always break your computer, but they do always slow it down. They’re more common than you may think, and can hang out in your system, gumming up the works, without you even knowing it. Microsoft Security Essentials is a great, easy, all-in-one solution to keep your computer healthy and running in top form.
2. Update Your OS
Windows issues updates all the time. These can patch holes in the software, closing vulnerabilities that viruses and spyware exploit, and generally make Windows run better. If you’re running Windows XP, right click on the My Computer icon on the desktop, select Properties and click on the Automatic Updates tab. Make sure you set them to download and install automatically.
3. Purge “Bloatware"

Weaponised Malware - how criminals are using digital certificates to cripple your organisation
The headlines around the story of the Stuxnet attack on an Iranian nuclear facility were familiar: “New malware attack”. Digital security threats and sometimes the hype surrounding them have become commonplace in our interconnected and IT-dependent world. However, this was no ordinary attack. Apparently malware was introduced into the Iranian nuclear facilities local area network. It entered between the internet and the internal network. The other possibility was a trusted insider who was an agent of the organisation which carried out the attack ..

There's a Bounty on Your Applications
In the last year there have been a number of organisations offering rewards, or 'bounty' programs, for discovering and reporting bugs in applications. Mozilla currently offers up to $3,000 for crucial or high bug identification, Google pays out $1,337 for flaws in its software and Deutsche Post is currently sifting through applications from 'ethical' hackers to approve teams who will go head to head and compete for its Security Cup in October. The winning team can hold aloft the trophy if they find vulnerabilities in its new online secure messaging service – that's comforting to current users. So, are these incentives the best way to make sure your applications are secure?

Iomega v.Clone: Very impressive technology!
Iomega: The last word in data access
(Source: The Inquirer)

ANYONE who has to bring work home from the office and vice versa knows how hard it is to keep everything in sync. Apart from the need to keep work flowing, one also has to be cautious about losing data.
There are several ways of doing these, but the most attractive is the one Iomega has to offer. And it’s not even a hardware.
Iomega’s v.Clone software is a clever new technology that basically clones your primary PC, which may be the one at home or in the office, saving it to an external hard drive. Once you plug it to a secondary PC, you don’t just get access to all your applications but also office software, e-mail programs, games, and browser favorites.

Google it!
Most of us uses Google to search something and no doubt it’s one of the best search engine but did you know that there are several built-in functions within Google which makes searching stuff even easier. Here are some of it:
1. Calculator
Google search can be used as a calculator. It can calculate anything from the simplest math to the most complex equation. All you need to do is just enter the math in the search box and hit enter. You can use the following functions:
+ – * / (basic arithmetic)
% of (percentage of )
^ or ** (raise to a power)
Example:
12 + 34 - 56 * 7 / 8
45% of 39
2^5 or 2**5
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
2. Dictionary
You can define any word by entering “define:” following the word.
Example:

How can I read a AutoCAD file?
I have an AutoCad file and I would like to read it. However I do not have an Autocad program. Would it be possible to read it? Using someother program that is easy to use or do I need to install AutoCad? I do not want to change anything to the files. I just want to see what is on it- designs of a house and maybe print some of the files.
