By supernova2016 on Fri, 19/02/2010 - 9:20amThe UNESCO designated February 21st as the International Mother Language Day to be observed globally in recognition of the martyrs who fought to establish the rightful place of Bangla language. The proclamation was unanimously adopted in November 1999 through a resolution at the plenary meeting of the UNESCO at its headquarters in Paris. The resolution declared that, ‘21st February is proclaimed as International Mother Language Day to commemorate the martyrs who sacrificed their lives on this very day in 1952’.

You May Already Be There
By supernova2016 on Tue, 26/01/2010 - 9:30pmA boat docked in a tiny Mexican fishing village.
A tourist complimented the local fishermen on the quality of their fish and asked how long it took him to catch them.
"Not very long." they answered in unison.
"Why didn't you stay out longer and catch more?"
The fishermen explained that their small catches were sufficient to meet their needs and those of their families
"But what do you do with the rest of your time?"
"We sleep late, fish a little, play with our children, and take siestas with our wives.
In the evenings, we go into the village to see our friends, have a few drinks, play the guitar, and sing a few songs.
We have a full life."
The tourist interrupted,
"I have an MBA from Harvard and I can help you!

Женись на мне, сука!
By Larissa Ivanovna on Tue, 22/12/2009 - 8:03amВсем привет. Вчерашнему "Давай поженимся" по ОРТ посвящается.
Народ, я не расистка, но вчерашнее гуано превзошло само себя. "Выдавали замуж" какого-то японца. За русских девушек.
SOMETHING DEEP FROM YOUR HEART.
By supernova2016 on Wed, 16/12/2009 - 7:20amAn old man lived alone in Minnesota. He wanted to spade his potato garden, but it was very hard work. His only son, who would have helped him, was in prison. The old man wrote a letter to his son and mentioned his situation.
Dear Son,
I am feeling pretty bad because it looks like I won’t be able to plant my potato garden this year.
I hate to miss doing the garden, because your mother always loved planting time. I’m just getting too old to be digging up a garden plot. If you were here, all my troubles would be over. I know you would dig the plot for me, if you weren’t in prison.
Love, Dad
………
Shortly, the old man received this telegram:
“For Heaven’s sake, Dad,don’t dig up the garden!! That’s where I buried the GUNS!” At 4a.m.

Moving to Doha with Russian Wife & Daughter
By brett.estey on Wed, 25/11/2009 - 10:34amDobra Ootra,
I am an American moving to Doha within the next month from Dubai, with my family. My wife and daughter are Russian, from Perm. My daughter is almost 14 years old.
I am writing to inquire about Russian culture, education, etc. in Qatar that may make the relocation easier for my family.
If you have any tips or advice, or just want to say hello, I would appreciate hearing from you. I will have my wife enroll in Qatar Living and have her join this group, as well.
Speceba,
Brett
