haha, Well nice to know you all, QL has introduced me to a lot of gr8 ppl and new friends... well I Love socializing, i spend a lot of time on the net trying / doin some new crazy stuff .. apart from this .. work in the most pressurized company in Doha i guess, so trying to make the better of whatever free time i get at home and wid friends .. i am a party freak :) *kinda* .. enough of me blabbering . i was good in Essay writing and debates so i can go for pages .. So Whoz next ?

Iam an Indian Network Engineer. I love visiting this site on a daily basis and checking out the wonderful info that you guys put in. This site was a major help for me when i was planning to move to Qatar ( which is very recent). I hope to put in my littlebit to the site to help other newcomers too.

move here to doha, couple of months ago. just like surfing the net, more cheaper, than going around doha(not to mention, it's hard to get a taxi). i work for, biella, for more than two years now, back from dubai. still single, filipino. well that pretty much it, i cannot hang out a lot, because of my schedule, and busy with the openning at city center, anyways,..thats all i coulld say for now,..

My real name is Amr, i'm egyptian working as a clerk ...although i'm a vb.Net programmer and graphic designer and also guitarist (multi talented) i came to qatar when i was 6 yrs old i lived most of my life here in qatar till i finished the high school ..i go back to egypt for computer science college .. then here i'm back from 6 months ago ..
Qatar have been changed a lot in those 7 yrs .. i feel that i barely know it and i lost all my old friends so i feel lonely ..n in the need to make new friends... Ram is just a nick name for those who can't pronounce Amr ..

i have a masha'allah wonderful hubby and two bratty tiny tots aged 3 and 1.yup handful esp since the my little girl mimics everything my son does.adore anything thats got to do with kids.

I am married for almost 12 years to an Intelligent, kind hearted, good looking British guy we have a boy (10 yrs. old) and a girl (7 yrs. old).

I am quite new here in Qatar and I must say the Qatari Men and Women are very helpful, friendly and polite too! especially those women working from the health center.

your site is really good! I never been busy like this before! while my husband is at work and my kids are at school this site keeps me going.

Congrats on such a good site. I am a Scotsman who arrived here 4 months ago knowing nothing about Qatar(didnt actually know where it was when accepted job!!) Site has been a great help in settling.
Qatar and Doha are great and it has been a new lease of life for me since my wife died.
It is a great place......driving a little suspect though!!!!LOL
I like the multi national cultures here and the way they all seem to get on together.

I joined this site last week after applying for a job as a Dental nurse at the new sports hospital in Doha. I have been offered the job so hopefully if it all goes through I'll be out in Qatar at some point in the future. (I'm hoping for end of Feb. but looking at other peoples experience on here it might be more like April!!)
I can't wait to get out there and have loved chatting to people on here who have been very helpful with the million questions I have asked!!

My user name says it all, I'm from the bright lights of Las Vegas, Nevada (so I'm used to the DRY heat, but not the humidity ). I'm over here alone so I miss my family and I miss the fantastic concerts and shows that I've been spoiled with living in Vegas (everything from the Rolling Stones, Aerosmith, U2, Black Crowes, and the Killers to Rascal Flatts, Tim McGraw, Shania Twain (so I enjoy all kinds of music except Rap) and of course Danny Gans, Cirque du Soleil and Lance Burton performances. No I don't spend my money on concerts or shows I go to them free, it's all about connections... Anyway while I am here I am hoping to meet some people that want to get out and do things! Tired of people that want to watch the Travel Show but not travel or explore. Tired of people that would rather drink than go out to restaurants, or to the souks or just walk the Corniche and chat. As a sidenote I don't drink nor smoke (I know strange being from Vegas the land of Sin), I don't mind people that do as long as they are respectful. However, when I eat I always have to sit in the non-smoking area. I've lived in the UK (North Yorkshire & Northamptonshire) for 10 yrs, Saudi and Germany, Italy and now here. Well, that's me in a nutshell. Hopefully some of you want to get off you behinds and do things too. Again as we say out West, Howdy to you all and Viva Las Vegas!

I didn't see this thread when I joined QL 6 weeks and 2 days (to be exact) ago. It's better late than never, they said.

Came to Doha 12th Feb 2005; a single mother of 2 wonderful kids (daughter 16 y/o and son is turning 9 y/o next month); currently in an LDR and no regrets about it. Now employed as a Customer Service officer for a German-owned logistics company.

Qatar Living helped me to meet tremendously wonderful people in Qatar within the confines of my airconditioned room (lol) Kudos to Qatari, QL has made my solitary daily existence in Doha quite bearable.

I may or may not get the chance to meet everyone here but at least, I got to meet some true-blue, awesome folks like Xena, Ducky and Novita (and the others-list would be too long...hehehe)All that thanks to the CULT OF QL

I'm from the UK and have been here for 6 months now.

I only got my residency a month ago so now I feel I am finally able to live in Qatar, I can get a car, a bank account, a job - wow!

I actually just got a job working as a co-ordinator for a financial advisor - so if anyone needs any advice please feel free to contact me.

I really like being here in Doha, it can be tough sometimes, I've had so much trouble with my visa's and receiving my shipping, I just felt like giving up and going home. But I'm glad I've held out and I've managed to pack in some really good nights out and weekends away.

I hope all you guys are enjoying it here too.
