yes steel comes in unit lengths, but you can convert it into cubic meters ok.. get the specific density of the steel 7850kg/m^3, 1 ton = 1000kg. use that. but i suggest the value of the density because im not sure.
1 MT of steel occupies 0.127388535 cum volume.
You can apply it to anything.
Reason: Density of steel approx 7850 Kg/cum.
so for 1000 Kg the volume is easy to find 1000/7850 cum.
1 cubic meter = 7.5 to 7.8 ton (approx)
Steel comes in length of 12 mtr rod, you cannopt convert it in cubic meter. Also it depends on the dimension, there are steel coming from 8mm to 40mm, if you want to know the length of the steel you need to mention the dimension.
1 cubic ton (40 cubic feet) = 1.133 cubic metres
1 cubic metre = 0.883 cubic tons (35.32 cubic feet)
I hope this helps.
I'm not sure I fully understand the question my friend so I'll give a couple of answers and hopefuly you might get what you need?
I cubic meter of steel weighs 7800KG or 7.8 metric tonnes.
If you are speaking of re-bar for 1 meter of concrete which I think you are then it depends on the bar size, spacings, overlaps, ties etc etc etc.
One measurement ton is equal to 40 cubic feet or one cubic meter.
cubic meter of what?
