Thank you all for your wonderful and helpful feedback.
@ Hawk10: Insurance has also expired yesterday, both on same date. I am leaving country tomorrow night so will not be using vehicle in next week or 10 days. other than the risk of some accident is there some penalty involved?
everything of the vehicle is OK but I did not notice if there is some fire extinguisher or not. the first thing I will do in the morning is to check that.
Again Thank you all for your help.
Please check the following before you take your vehicle to renew registration.
All the lights should be in working condition
Brake should be in very good condition
good tires without any damages
If found any accident or damages on the car should be rectified
Fire extinguisher expiry date to be checked if it is only 3 years old car it has value 5 years but the expiry date should be on the cylinder.
check any fines on the car.
finish this job it takes only 2 hours
You have a grace period of ONE month for registration but NOT for insurance. Because if anything happened, it will be really a serious issue for you, I mean a serious accident. Check your registration as I have seen most of the insurance will have one month more validity after expiry of registration. If that is the case, go on vacation and do it after coming back but if your insurance is going to expire, don't take any risk.
Go to the inspection, after inspection, renew insurance and visit traffic department for renewal of registration, the whole process will take 1-2 days for you.
Thanks for the quick reply
I went through the thread and noticed that its a two year old thread. Does the procedure still remains same so far? I called their office and was forwarded to some agent, who never replied. May be their office timings are not so late.
