thanks ringo mate.... ...ringo..... thanks for bringing this up... am with you on this very important issue.... i have experienced this so many times here and it seems to always amazes me how this guys are scared to do their jobs.... and are there no managers at all in these coffee shops etc??? especially the starbucks at the villagio.... always seems to have a lot of qataris and foreigners smoking away when it is illegal by qatari law to smoke in these place... i dont think they have a manager, and if they do, he /she definitely does not know his / her job properly... but am sure with the incidence of the last few days, the authorithies will step up to the plate, but whether this will last for long is yet to be seen......thanks ringo....

other mall problems...... ...Bless the soul of the dead and with much respect for them id like to bring to the limelight a different problem of this malls not enforcing regulations when it comes to Qataris... !!! an example is when you relax to enjoy your coffee in starbucks in villagio, and a qatari starts smoking next to you and you call the staffs attention and all he tells you is that "sorry sir, i cant do anything"!!!1 Well now am sure this will make them do their jobs a bit more without the fear of either a qatari or a foreigners backlash at them.... im not picking on the qataris, but it always seems to me that they are the ones always breaking the rules that they make... smokers have a right to smoke but not in the place where there are kids and other people trying to enjoy a quiet afternoon..... cheers.....

A LESSON LEARNED ...I'd like to extend my condolences to the bereaved family of the victims of villagio mall tragedy. I've been to doha for 1 and a 1/2 year, but what i noticed my stay during summer that there is always a fire. even during the winter time. I too experienced the accomodation we were staying is a fire hazard. electrics where just wire tapping and there just putting it some electric tapes and even the place was all made up of light materials and what was below our accomodation is the company's restaurant. I hope the government will have time to check not only for the accomodations and even the labor. that's why i left doha becoz the government was really no control of their laws. They don't even know who's following or not with their law. Sad to say I've been experiencing a lot of bad things there...I just hope this is a lesson to be learned to the government of DOHA QATAR that u should implement and be strict with ur law :)
