What the hell is going on with QL lately ???
Not only now have we lost PM as a member, i now read that Xena has had enough and is leaving. Gypsy doesnt go to any meetups anymore and it seems the whole place is going to the dogs !!!
Can anyone explain why, cos it seems to me that if this is gonna carry on, there will be no QL left for us.......
Are all these trolls and muppets on here really wielding enough power to affect us that much ??
With all this talk of getting people deported and jailed and so on.......To these people , i say, do yer best to get me deported, and you will find yerselves spending some quality time in the local hospital. You only bully people who will not fight back !!
I know that with all these people on here, different opinions will pass around, but these arguments should end when yer close down yer ' puter.
Its a shame. Even i had to take a week out of QL, and nothing bothers me !!
Lets have the good old QL back, where we could have mature sensible disscussions without threats of violence and deportation.

Ql has a lot of them. That's why QL groups set up membership/subscription rulings that a poster should be __ weeks old with ___ points (1post = 1 point) and the nature of the posts.

Just because we're on a website doesn't change the fact that we're in Qatar, and we all know that there's always the chance that if we upset the wrong person while driving around Doha we could end up with a call from the cops, even if we didn't do anything wrong. The problem is people seem to think that because they're behind a computer screen they're immune to this sort of behaviour.
But they forget that it's just as easy (if not easier) to upset someone on QL, and it really isn't that hard for someone to find out who you are when everyone has such a large web presence these days (facebook, blogs, etc etc), not to mention the fact that many of you meet up in the real world.

Darude ...I didnt threaten anyone and neither did I cross my limits in any of the discussions. I dont see any reason for you to be upset at me. Because u do the same thing that I did to me and I dont get pissed off at u. If u want me out of your group, go ahead and ask people to vote for those who want me out and who want me to be a part of the group... u will see the judgement urself and just cuz of u, I will reduce showing up at the gatherings and on QL aswell, which I did in the last 2 or 3 days. Every time i try to help, it becomes a pain to u, so its better if I just stay out of ur business and not try to help out. I'll be a silent member and soon I will quit QL too, just like PM and Xena are... only cuz u rule over here. I was expecting to be kicked out of the social group the other day when u sent me a pm complaining about what I did, I told u it wont happen and I kept my word, now I cant go and kill myself for your satisfaction, hence keeping out of a few of the events would be good for me. I am not Mir or that qatari guy who tried to mess up QL, im not even close. Upon ur request i went below my dignity and ask PM for forgivness even thou I wasn't at fault, but i did it for the QLSG. U wanna be pissed, go ahead, cuz there are alot of people on QL who are not so happy from u either. U cant satisfy everyone Darude.

MR PAUL - unfortunately ...Unfortunately, there are a couple of members who through coincidence have managed to get an insight in members private lives, not just PM. I have spoken to a number of people who have been threatened, and this seems to be their sport.
Due to the laws in Qatar and the dangers of being reported to the police and having a complaint filed against you - some members seek to retreat from QL, and although Xena had a good point - it is not entirely as she presented it. Fact is it is much easier to be deporoted from Qatar than many realise, just one imbalanced complaint can cause you your job and liveihood.
I myself have gone through the complaint system in the police and can fairly say that it is not a nice procedure. (traffic)
These are open forums and meant for discussion, mainly expatriates use it for information to help them around Qatar and help newcomers around Qatar.
It is a very sorry state that people are bullied and harassed for having an opinion, it is site where I pick up a lot of intercultural information and I would be sad if I would loose this.
What beats my understanding is - take last night for example - how many people from the community rallied round to help out - no arguments - no trouble nothing just a group of international people helping others in need
What more is needed??

I don't know what's going on here, but that's what I'm afraid of about interacting socially with people you meet online. 99% may be nice (& become your life-long friends), but the 1% may kill you or make your life a living hell.

2) people who like to say things that make things right
