Salary: What is the range in Qatar?
Need some assistance...
The deal:
team building/ leadership trainer
Offered 7000 Qar as base salary..
Accomodation, medical, sports utility, meal (3 times daily) provided..
6 day work, 1 day off..with 8 weeks work and 2 weeks off..plus return flight ticket..
6 months renewable contract with 1 month bonus upon completion..
my qualification as stated below:
first degree in petroleum chemistry
master degree in science..
Work experience:
3 years in R&D
2 years in training
Currently:
freelance exec
PhD student..
Is 7000 Qar is suitable or else, How much to negotiate salary?
need some guidance

No!No!No! ...What you have been offered is nothing. They need to multiply that base by minimum of 3 and add the accomodation and flights. Otherwise you will regret cause once yoyu land, you might not be allowed to go out of the country and you will be stuck. They have offered you a salary for Non Degreed.

It does appear ...somewhat low although the relative lack of experience may be the reason for that.
I can't figure out why the 8 on and 2 off with return tickets is applied. Is this to avoid applying for a residence permit?
If it's contract work then definitely it's too low.

I don't know where you are ...I don't know where you are from, but look at it from this perspective.
What are your main aims at the moment? Get experience, save money and complete your Phd?
Since accomodation and meals are provided and you also get three months off a year, look at how much you will save (in your own currency).
Then decide!

save money...equally yes
PhD might have to deffer 1 or 2 semesters..
what do both of you would suggest?

dweller - 8 and 2 with return tickets is just the rotation policy that company operates. Nothing to do with dodging residency permits!!!

You need to consider the ...You need to consider the following-:
1. It is only a 6 month contract therefore, you may after a short while have to look for another job. Depends on your current status really.
2. If the job will add to your C.V, then sure you may want to accept the short term contract, that may or may not be extended.
3. Salary is rather low for a training position as Dweller pointed out. Again, depends if you are CV building really. Also depends on your personal comparison to salaries in your native country.
4. Holidays are quite nice! Wish i had that set up!
Write down the pros and cons and then make up your mind. Salary will not make you rich though...keep that in mind.

The package seems totally ...The package seems totally unattractive. You will be much better off in Malaysia. With your qualifications, why not try QP or RagGas?

to accept or not to accept ...i totally agree with the comments given..good idea from orang kedah..
the offer came to me unexpectedly, i was just surfing the net and found out the vacancy, apllied and they responded quickly..they shortlisted me and called for interview..
after the interview in malaysia, initially they offered GBP 1000, i did not say yes or no..i asked for better offer and waiting for their respond..by that time, i came across qatarliving.com..
post my comment and received excellent feedback from the members of QL..helped me alot..
