Al Jazeera School

Does anyone know about this school and whether classes are in Arabic or English, annual fees? I am looking for an English (US) speaking school close to the university area, any advice/assistance in this matter is greatly appreciated. Thanks to all.

The school does not have a good reputation. Besides that is is as far away from the University as you can get....

Schools that are closer to the University ( I imagine you are talking about Qatar University) are Choiefat and the Qatar International School.

choiefat i heard is good because they have a network all over the world...i believe sabis network so when your kids move somewhere else its easy to adjust ....dont quote me on this im also still searching for school but hopefully choiefat will except my kids

Thanks a lot for the information. Yes, I mean Univ of Qatar. I contacted Qatar Academy by they siad they were full for the year.

So now I am looking for the next best option, within a reasonable distance from the university.

try International School of London (ISL). The location is close to Qatar University.

It's a new school, will be open sept 2008.

There will be an openhose someday this week.

Try Gulf English School in Gharaffa, it follows the UK curriculum and IB.Fees for this year were approx QR19,000 for primary and QR 26,000 for secondary.IB is more plus charges for books for all grades.
