What an Afternoon : Friday: 09.05.08: QL [C] Team 'A' Vs Team 'B' - "A Grand Success"
What an afternoon indeed?
The afternoon of May 09th, 2008 will go down in all our hearts and in the History of Qatar Living for having their first and inaugaral Cricket Match between two well balanced, well fought and high spirited and highly talented players and some fun-loving individuals...
Yes, Ladies and Gentlemen, it was the first match ever played with the Qatar Living Banner on display and it was indeed a very successful event...
A Quick review of the match:

Toss: Team B (Johny won the toss), Chose to Field
The first ball of the match of the first inaugaral match: Murali , OUT CAUGHT BEHIND for score '0' (Oucchhhhh , I tell ya)
Team A had lost another 2 successive quick wickets with scores at single digits, and then came in the first of the Master Batsmen "Khanan", he had steadied the innings with a partnership of about 120 Runs with another Master Batsmen "Zohebonline"... Respective scores:
Khanan : 43 Out
Zohebonline: 65 Not Out...
Team A ended their run march on a score of 141/3 end of the 16 overs...
We had some very inspired bowling from, Johny, Chaudhary, Bakamuna, Raju (who stepped on late into the field)...
Team B had stepped onto the ground for their Run Chase:
Team B had also initially lost a couple of quick wickets on their un chase, but that was till when Johny (Captain) of Team B, stepped onto the field, with his another Icon Player (Rezoextreme).
Both of them had started belting our bowlers all around the park and they were chasing our score at a run rate of almost 10 RPO...
But this was when 666 had been given the ball (First City Lifestyle Moments of the match), bowled a ball and Johny had hit the ball straight to me and trust me people, I drop too many...
then came in another master batsmen in the name "Chaudhary", who had again started taking the match away from us with his partnership with RezoExtreme who had already been playing an almost match winning knock. But just before when things were looking lost for us, Zohebonline was given a 3rd straight over hoping for a breakthrough which was exactly what had happened, he removed Rezoextreme with a lovey ball that clean bowled him and broke the partnership...
Team A's very enthusiastic bowler Murali was given the ball, and whilst he had managed to get beated around the park for a couple of fours, the last ball of his first over he was involved in a run out where in again the show stopper Khanan collected the ball at the other end and threw down the stumps with a DIRECT THROW to RUN OUT Chaudhary (a man who was playing prime cricket and threatening our almost looking WIN),
And after that, I had taken the ball and was quite lucky to get a wicket right in the first over afterwhich Khanan had decided, well he had done a fine job with the bat, had his good time behind the wickets (Wicket Keeper) so why not have a try with the ball, and I tell ya, his first over had dragged the batsmen out his crease and Zohebonline who was the then Wicketkeeper, had got his man stumped out...and the final over the match was again bowled by me where in I had given off 11 Runs off 5 balls and the last ball of my over got Team B's last man caught...so that's 2 wickets for me...
In review, there was a good 3rd over of the innings by Vinay who had taken 2 wickets in his second over giving us a good start to the defence of our score and it was some inspired bowling by 666, Zohebonline, Toxic, Murali...Some spirited performances by Johny, Rezoextreme, Chaudhary and Raju for Team 'B'.
Over all,
Team A defeated Team B by almost a margin of 20 odd runs...
Congrats boys...
Man of the Match: Zohebonline, for his brilliant score of 65 n.o (43 balls), 2 wickets, 1 Stumping, a fine all round performance earns him the
MAN OF THE MATCH TITLE for the First Game of Qatar Living.
Overall I would like to thank the organizers of the match, the ground officials, Charan, Speed and Soft2007 of my team for their great support on the field (sorry boys couldnt get you involved in the match but still thanks for the support), and Charan's wife (to wake Charan's lazy azz up and drag his sleepy azz to the ground on TIME and for Watching the whole match), and for Johny once again to help us with the various Cricket Gear...a special mention of thanks to Bakamuna( for the T-shirst he gave us, hey I still didnt get mine) and to Murali for organizing the drinks...
So Boys, overall, it was a Great Day of Fun and sportsmanship and I thank you one and all for coming out on a Friday Afternoon and spending time with one of the finest games of the world in today "CRICKET" and on behalf of
"Qatar Living Cricket Group, Thanks DaRude, and Qatari for supporting us to achieve this MILESTONE..."
So yes, we will have this game once in 2 weeks or for sure once in 3 weeks as an ongoing process inorder to pick the best playing 11 for competing in the next year's official Qatar Cricket League...
so Boys keep playing your best Cricket, lets have a lot of fun out there, and more importantly, lets enjoy each other's company...

As ksa said both teams were nicely balanced and couple of more players turning out would have been great..still it was good match.
zohebonline you were the line between we winning and losing so we better keep an eye for you next time...
Khanan well supported and never thought you could be a such a headache for us once you are settled.

Speed paaji... ...Well sir, till the time I was writing about Vinay's bowling I remembered that but just then it slipped out...
And ofcourse how can we all forget the catch, an absolute blinder of the catch, sky high, and Speed looking right there at the skies as the ball comes down and we are all shouting Catch it CAtch it...and then concentrating he looks and holds onto a fantastic catch that started the fall of wickets for us...
