Help!! Cat Claws Help!! :(
Hello. I have 2months old Kittie. I want to cut her nails because i cant have more signs of love on my hands and feet 
So i need Cat nail cutter as shown below

i got the one in blue type ...i got the one in blue type and i got it fr QVC . initially i used the normal clipper and it worked too then when i found it at QVC i got it - so simple to use provided the kitty wont fuss.

Yousri ... ...I had a cat before and even the normal nail cutter would do, you gotta be careful where to cut as the end of the nails from the cat hand is attached to the nerves. If you were mistaken and cut those, it would be really so bad ... just cut nothing but the edge of it and watch out for those nerves.

Don't do it ...yourself, you could easily harm the cat.
Take it to the vet to have the claws clipped. They know what they are doing!

Dweller, it is really easy ...Dweller, it is really easy not to hurt the pet when doing it, specially if the kitty has light colored nails. Just don't cut the dark bit! I've done it for years and years, never once hurt any of my pets. On the other hand, I once made a mistake of taking my cats for a bath and they cut their nails. They cut one of the nails so deep, poor thing, her paw was still bloody. And those are the "professional" ppl!

actually this is not only ...actually this is not only good for us, its good for the cat itself, because the longer nails it has the more pain these nails cause for the cat, this is why cats love to scratch any thing,

all you have to do i cut the ...all you have to do i cut the white part, and not the pink part....kinda like human nails!
I use regular nail clippers and have never had problem. If you start trimming the nails when they are kittens they will get used to you doing it and it wont be a problem when the kitten is all grown up!

You can also try Megamart ...You can also try Megamart and Carrefour. I have seen them in both places.
Best thing is to wrap a towel around your cat when you are doing anything with them they dont want. The pry out the wanted paw etc. You will see those nasty back paws are being kept in the towels and no way you can be scratch. I even do this when I need to give them their meds....

I forgot. ...Cats need to have their claws shortened and sharpened. I used to put them in a tree to do this naturally. However here there is a lack of trees. So I wrapped some rope around the legs of a barstool. Any time they want to do their nails on my furniture I take them over the barstool. They are pretty used to it now and their claws are in good condition..

actually you should give ...actually you should give cats a bath unless they got into something really dirty and cant clean themselves.
Cats are very clean, and when you wash them it strips their fur and the shampoo can make them sick.
Leave the washing up to the cat unless they fell into honey or huge mud puddle!!!
Oh, and if a cat hasn't cleaned itself in a long time, it probably means the cat is not feeling to well and probably just has a cold. If this is the case, giving it a bath can make little kitten feel worse! Once the cat gets better, it will clean itself :D

I partially agree with ...I partially agree with jasskat, most cats are really clean and seldom need a bath. However, there are some cats that do need a bath once in a while, specially the ones with long hair, and, personally, I don't believe there's anything wrong in bathing them. Having said that... I did have a really bad experience with a pet parlor when they cut my cat's nail. And besides that, most of the parlors are scared of cats and give them medication to calm them down, which I'm so against.
On bathing them at home, it's a little hard, but not impossible, yousri. I've only had to do it twice with my cats, though.
But you need to make sure of a few things. The most important one is to ensure that no water gets into the cat's ears or kitty will get an ear infection. Second, make sure you rinse the cat really well and do not leave shampoo/conditioner behind so kitty doesn't get a skin infection. And use a brush in one movement so the hair doesn't get tangled (if the cat has long hair). When it's time to dry kitty, be prepared. Some of them HATE hair dryers, they are really scared of them. One of my cats is a prime example, even if I'm drying my own hair the poor thing goes on hiding so scared he gets.
Oh, and don't forget to put your not so nice clothes on, as you'll get wet with the cat : )

as for the bathing part since he is an indoor cat and is not dirty i dont bathe him all but once when my kitchen had a slow electrical fire and my cat had soot all over him which turned him a diff color(lol) he is black and white but he turned to be black and soottyish in color even his white paws was dirty that is when i gave him a bathe. wasnt an easy task altho he just loves water. wat i did was dilute the cat shampoo to a weaker strength so that it would be easier to wash off and not stick to his hair . if this happens then he may end up being ill when he licks/cleans himself.

Washing your cat. ...I have now 5 cats, my latest adoption was yesterday. Anyway as my cats go outside and enjoy the garden I give them regular baths because of the flees they get. Especially when I buy new flee collars. No they dont like it. I close the bathroom door when I wash one. When we are done and open the door, the others are sitting in front and are waiting for us to finish. It is like they tell each other about their experiences and give compassion to the recently washed one. Never wet their heads. Do body only and only use special cat shampoo.
